Empire at War: Remake 5.1 - The Final Update

Description
Empire at War: Remake 5.1 - The Final Update
Sadly this will be the last version of Remake to be published as the Team has disbanded.
This was due to the lack of communication and continuous overhauls.

Requires 32GB of Free Space

Submods will continue to expand beyond what we have developed.
We look forward to what they achieve:

Campaign Overview:
In 5.0 we have a total on 15 campaign maps for you to choose from:

(1920x1080)

Imperial Web Way:
Our previous 4.0 campaigns redesigned with a new economy that focuses on the buying and selling of the galactic population. All buildings and units are randomly generated on each campaign, so you won't have the same start twice.
Both Lite and Casual have their Ai for the minor factions disabled.

Old World:
Our previous 3.5 campaigns that only have space combat, and just like the Imperial Web Way all buildings and units are randomly generated on each campaign.
No minors are present on the maps and you can only build your faction units.

Scenarios:
New singular campaigns which will either rise or flop.
With their own economy, buildings and units separate from the other campaigns.

Conflict Begins - A beginner campaign with custom story events for each faction.
Shattered Empire - Experience total war style buildings.
Economy Upheaval - The Imperial Web Way economy re-imagined.
Technological Upheaval - The same as above with a unique tech tree.

Multiplayer:
An experimental multiplayer campaign with it's own economy, buildings, units and research options.

Skirmish:
We have also have 6 new and exciting modes for skirmish.

FreeMode - Which allows for the creation of battles on a number of maps.
Encounter - Pits you against the Ai with them generating random fleets.
Arena - An experimental match of heroes fighting each other.
Bases - Where you build up a base before you attack.
Siege - A ship enemy has taken up position near your base.
Conquest - Capture and Control points on the map.

User Interface:
For our next release the user interface needed a rework.
As the most common misunderstanding is there are filters for units & buildings, so you can switch between set categories.

So we have the all important Space and Ground filters which are part of the base game.
Then below we have our own scripted filters:
Orbitals, Capitals, Frigates, Corvettes & Starcraft
Buildings, Aircraft, Vehicles, Infantry

Additional ground filters have been added as there are a lot more units now.

Ground:
In 4.0 we tried something new when adding ground combat back into Remake.
The Regiment system, where you have set forces that deploy together for a massive battle.
Most haven't enjoyed this system.

So for this release you have individual units again allowing you to build your own forces:

All 47 ground maps have been updated to allow up to 10 units to be deployed.

On top of that all factions have received new ground units, establishing their own identity when it comes to ground combat.

Costs for Bombing Runs and Orbital Bombardment have been removed.

Space:
For space combat we are trying something new again, a armour system.
Now this system has been thoroughly tested out for skirmish.
However for the galactic conquest map it hasn't as there are too many variables.

The attrition system however has been removed.
When garrisoned starcraft die in combat they cost credits and if the object that garrisoned the starcraft dies too you get your credits back. Which saying that is confusing to me as well.

It was created to combat the over use of bombers, but when you have enough credits that doesn't work.

All 88 space maps have been updated with new markers, so there shouldn't be anything missing. Additionally the Cannon Orbital has been fixed so it always despawns after the parent orbital has been destroyed.

Upkeep:
The Upkeep system on units has been replaced.
So you can't just stack your units on enemy worlds, it now has to be dealt with.

All Upkeep has now been shifted to the Galactic Population and nearly everything cost a little.
There are however multiply ways of dealing with Upkeep.

Planets, Buildings, Orbitals and a Population Upgrade can all be used to combat this Upkeep.

Tech:
So in this new version there are multiple styles of advancing tech.

The Lite and Casual campaigns are different, you can select the campaign's tech level before you enter; however there are no methods to advance afterwards.

Most campaigns have a researchable tech upgrade on the planet Trieron at the bottom left of the campaign map, their is a hero icon to allow you to be quickly transported there, this is also where the Population Upgrade can be found.

Disclaimer
Originally their was only going to be a skirmish release, on it's own page separate from 4.0, that hasn't happen in the months since the team has disbanded. So I've pressed on now for several months getting all the abandoned content working for this standalone release, so people can possible enjoy the work we have spent years making.

However individuals are calling this a leak, an alpha build, still under development, full of bugs.
Click here to read a detailed account and decided yourself.

To simply put it these individuals are wrong and don't want you to enjoy the work that has been put into this, as they have no idea what has changed since the team has been disbanded, and if another version of this release gets uploaded somewhere else they don't want you to compare the differences and see how untenable the direction of remake was going.

For being under development that is completely true, as it is for any game, any mod, when you release the work doesn't just stop. Fixes and new content are consistently pushed out, and for this mod a number of patches have been done to improve the current content and fix those early crashes any new game has.

Yet for the previous release of remake this is false as it hasn't received fixes for obvious bug and broken content since August 2023, so you know how little the people in charge care about fixing bugs, even 3.5 wasn't a planned update and was only made because me and another member pleaded to fix the current content at the time and received little to no help from the other members of the team before it was pushed out.

Is there anyway to re-enable the regiment system in this version? I rather liked it and thought it was more realistic. Generally speaking, when a military deployment happens, it's units deployed wholesale and not on a squad by squad or vehicle by vehicle basis. While it's true that sometimes individual companies from a larger unit get deployed by themselves, that's still 100-250+ men plus equipment and vehicles.

Where can I find the xml file that refers to golan spacestations? Where can I edit it so that it can be built on all planets (like easy emp, reb). I already found the units and manually rewrote them, but I simply can't find golan :D

The mod is very good and very complete, but I have a serious problem. It turns out that when I play Galactic Conquest and a battle starts, a few minutes of fighting pass and the game closes by itself. Well, this happened to me with the games when they were saved in the auto-save mode, but when I save them, the same thing happens to me. I think it was because I tend to overwrite the saved games, or maybe it's a computer error. HELP has this happened to anyone else?
