Prior to the introduction of the Ka-27 in 1982, the standard Soviet naval helicopter was the odd and insectile Ka-25. This mod adds a variant of the Kiev-class as it existed in 1981, with a helicopter group composed of bug-shaped Ka-25 ASW helicopters, and even more bulbous Ka-25Ts radar picket helicopters.

The Ka-25Ts is a powerful antisurface tool, with a better range and search radar than the base Ka-25. I also personally find this loadout more fun, as helicopters must operate in hunter-kiler pairs unlike the multirole Ka-27. Also useful for historical missions.
