Description
Cinematic Mod has been ported to workshop.

Requirements

1. +r_hunkalloclightmaps 0 launch option is required. (Library - Half-Life 2 - Properties - Set launch option: +r_hunkalloclightmaps 0)

2. The workshop version of the mod functions under Vulkan and requires a Vulkan capable GPU. If you are using Nvidia GPU, set -vulkan launch option. If you are using a modern AMD gpu, skip this and don't add the -vulkan parameter. (Library - Half-Life 2 - Properties - Set launch option: -vulkan)

High Dynamic Range in the options should be on "Full". This avoids a "fullbright" issue.

3. It is preferable to unsubscribe from other mods not related to Cinematic Mod, as they might cause glitches. Even the smallest mods are likely to cause problems. Only subscribe to Cinematic Mod related mods or risk potential instability.

It is encouraged to use Vulkan launch option on NVidia graphics cards. (If you are using Radeon RX series or possibly any modern AMD gpu, you don't need a vulkan parameter.)

Launch options should look like this: +r_hunkalloclightmaps 0 -vulkan (Vulkan should be set for Nvidia GPUs. It's not required for users with newer AMD graphics cards)

4. Select Half-Life 2: Episode Two in the main menu before starting the mod to load necessary materials.

About the mod

This version of the mod does not replace Half-Life 2 and instead functions as a seperate campaign launched through "Extras - Workshop" tab in the main menu. It has been condensed to approximately 30GBs instead of 50. It uses the standard Half-Life 2 character models except citizen NPCs (the higher detail standard HL2 models are used) and weapons. In order to use Cinematic Mod specific character models, other workshop items have to be downloaded seperately.

The wasteland section is set during the night.

To change chapters, activate developer console and use "changelevel" command and type the map's name. Here is Half-Life 2 map reference

(Some of the maps are merged into one to reduce loading screens, meaning standard Half-Life 2 map reference isn't always reliable and might load you into a standard map if you are choosing a map that was merged into another map, rather than the one from Cinematic Mod. If you are using a Half-Life 2 map reference to change chapters, it is recommended to load a previous map before the desired map.)

There may be rare map-specific crashes, such as crash on map 4 (rooftop) where crash might occur if you are moving too fast. Mostly it is just a one-time scenario. More information

If you are experiencing bugs and glitches, it is recommended to unsubscribe from other unrelated to Cinematic Mod workshop mods.

Full separate Cinematic Mod versions with modified Alyx. (They had to be released as separate mod releases to avoid issues with this version. Only one version has to be subscribed to, depending on the model preference. Requirements for the separate versions are equally applied.)

In short, if you want one of the Alyx models, subscribe to one of these versions listed below instead. They are identical to this version, just with a different Alyx model. If you want models for other characters, subscribing to them in the attached collection at the top of this page is enough.

Full separate release with modified Alyx. (Alyx - HD)

I did read the descriptions. The thing is thsr, without doing a thing, game is trying to load coast_02 map instead of jumping straight to 03, which is why I wrote as most common user may not understand wth is going on. There should be a thing telling the game to load 03 instead of 02. I did install your mod without any mod or thing, and keeps loading 02 instead of 03 (it's the only map transition that crashes, rest plays all normal)

Estaría hermoso que alguien hiciera un video guía de como instalar todo esto en español, porque pide muchas cosas, no entiendo nada y el traductor no ayuda mucho xD

If you pay attention to the description, you'd see that cinematic mod in some cases merges maps into one to avoid loading screens. d2_coast_01 that you might have loaded is incorrect d2_coast_01. The correct version is a bridge from d2_town_02 - d2_coast_01 and then it skips to a third one. Loading maps following a standard half-life 2 reference isn't always reliable, because some maps are just different. You are on a wrong map that tries to load a map that doesn't exist because it was merged into the other map. The transition you are making is likely through incorrect map or you have conflicts regarding workshop files. If you play the mod all the way through it would take you through a correct set of maps or if you load a correct map prior to the map in question and transition to it normally.

If you were to directly load d1_town_05, that map is not meant to exist in cinematic mod. It's a part of a long d1_town_02 and d2_coast_01 is also a long map that goes straight to d2_coast_03.

Found a "solution" to the d2_coast_01 crash, as it seems its trying to load d2_coast_02 but in the console, the following map is d2_coast_03. Loading the 03 map resumes from the ending of 01 but without your collected gear, so you will start with a set ammount of ammo/weapons.

It's crashing now at the end of "d2_coast_01"...dunno what it is....
