Description
This mod is broken with multiskin mutator in spectator mode. It works fine with multiskin mutator in other modes.

If your transport helicopter has a driver weapon. It will cause the helicopter to refuse to land if there are enemies nearby due to how Ravenfield handles transport helicopter logic.


Please don't use multiskin mutator with this mod enabled if in SPECTATOR MODE.
Chopper Hot Deploy
Making game intro more exciting than ever before.

This mod has TWO mutators

  • Chopper Hot Deploy: Optional. Enable it to have spawn from helicopters.
  • Always Land: Optional. It functions the same as Universal Helicopter Mutator . It has an anti-stuck feature for landing.

Functionality
This overrides the default spawning mechanism for all actors. They now arrive at the battlefield inside helicopters, which will land on the ground allowing faster infantry deployment and ground support.

Warning
This mod is not compatible with vehicles that have custom logics; though they would still arrive in helicopters, they wouldn't be deployed in the above-described way. This mod is COMPATIBLE ✅ with Universal Helicopter Landing. This mod is compatible with Vanilla Plus.

Configuration

  1. Max Helicopter Landing Range: This shows the maximum radius the helicopter could find landing zone given a target (which is configured below).
  2. Spawn Heli Timer: This timer is for the period between each helicopter spawn. Reducing this timer results in faster and bigger battles, but it might ruin your immersion.
  3. Max Stuck Timer: This timer is for how long (in seconds) it takes for a stuck helicopter to kick everyone out. When a helicopter stops moving, the timer starts to count down. The recommended timer is around 15~30 seconds.
  4. Only spawn with Full Passengers: This makes sure every time a helicopter spawns, it has maximum members.
  5. Offensive Deployment: Turning this on will make the chopper move directly into enemy territory. This can result in chaotic but inefficient battles.
  6. Spawn Heli from Spawnpoints: This spawns helicopters from spawn points. It is strongly recommended to always keep this enabled, as many maps have different center reference coordinates.
  7. Frontline Deployment: Chopper will choose to deploy at the frontline. This is tamer than offensive deployment, but still supplies enough dynamics.
  8. Ignore Helicopter Landing Zone: You can choose to ignore helicopter landing zone if your helicopters are stacked upon each other, but most of the time, you should keep it off
  9. Max Deploy Angle: This degree is how steep your pilot can tolerate. Lower value can lead to better landing but less chance of finding a suitable landing zone. Higher value can cause pilots to land at unimaginable places (so pro).
  10. Eagle/Raven Deploy Percentage: 0 = All spawn on ground. 100 = All spawn in air. If the team doesn't have a transport helicopter, they would spawn purely on ground ignoring this configuration.
  11. Paratrooper: Enabled = Paratrooper deployment. Disabled = Ground landing (vietnam-war-esque)

FAQ

Helicopters just crash. NPCs become paratroopers.
Check if you have any skin mutators enabled. They can cause this weird issue in spectator mode.

What do NPCs do after deploying?
The passengers do whatever they want to do as a squad. The pilot and crewmen become transport npcs. In the future, I will add more sophisticated logic to logistics simulation.

My helicopters keep drowning!
Reduce the max helicopter landing range to less than 30 meters.
I clicked F1 and suddenly everyone becomes part of my squad.
If you become the pilot of a helicopter, you automatically make everyone part of your squad. This cancels the original deploy behavior.
Helicopters don't land and keep shooting at enemies.
If your transport helicopters have pilot weapon, they will put landing tasks aside to prioritize the elimination of hostiles due to how Ravenfield handles transport helicopter logic.

And after some even further testing I found that they don't land, they just float over the point, I'm using Vanilla Plus if that means anything

After some further testing, they drop them off, go strafe with miniguns, then come back and pick them up.

For some reason, all the helicopters just land in one point, that has already been taken, hoping for some help on this.

@Galdin Ah I see! Thank you so much for clarifying the issue. By the way, if you accidentally click F1 (driver position) it will also make every vehicle occupant your teammate. ^^

The issue was that I was using another mutator that automatically assigned nearby troops to my squad so everyone in the helicopter would become part of my squad LOL

How many helicopters are there at the same contesting site? If there are too many transport helicopters at the same place, there can be issues with landing. Try to turn on procedural HLZ or similar options.

@conanmonan91 Hi! I tested it out and they were exploding when spawning in. I am not sure why that’s the case since the mod simply spawns the helicopters. A temporary compromise is to disable the CHD part and enable just Always Landz
