Description
It's the late 60s. Anti-air missile are proving themselves to be more and more useful than gun-based systems, and your navy still doesn't have anything close to one. Even without the technical knowledge and the lack of foreign assistance, you're determined to make a ship-based surface-to-air system on your own.

Presenting you the People's Republic of China Navy(PLAN)'s Type 053K frigate, the first and only ship of its class completed in the late 80s. Serving more as a test bed of the HQ-61B SAM system and the Type 381A 3D air search radar, it's merely a stepping stone to future PLAN ship designs.

In game uses the UK Z-class DD as the base model so appearance-wise might not look that similar to the actual 053K, but I did my best matching the armaments and sensors, both model and performance wise. Feel free to point out anything in need of change!

Features:
---------------------053K Jiangdong-class FFG---------------------
- Two Type 79 twin barrel 100mm mounts
- Four Type 76 twin barrel 37mm mounts
- Two dual-arm HQ-61B SAM launchers (See below for features)
- Two Type 65 anti-submarine rocket launchers
- Depth Charges
- Type 381A 3D air search radar
- Type 341 fire control radar
- Type 342 fire control radar
- Type 343 fire control radar
- Medium frequency sonar

The first PLAN warship armed with SAMs and 3D air search radar, marking a significant step into the anti-air missile age for the PLAN. However as a test bed, the actual combat effectiveness is questionable with its rudimentary design of the HQ-61B SAM system and the lack of countermeasures.

---------------------HQ-61B SAM---------------------
- Two dual-arm launchers with four ready-to-fire missiles on the racks
- A total of 24 missiles on board
- Usable for short-range self defense (5.4nm range)
- Long reload (Reported to be more than a minute, in game I gave it exactly 60 secs)

It took the PLAN nearly 20 years to design and test this SAM system before actually producing it in 1988, and by then it was considered obsolete with its unreliability and short range. Still, it provides some basic short-range self defense capabilities.

@Foxx_of_NOD Second ship did not enter active service due to shipyard building flaws. Thus it was never named by the PLAN.

@Foxx_of_NOD Well I'm currently sticking with units finished/completed in 1991 or before to stick with the time frame of the game, so no plans for those at least for the time being.
My next project should be updating the Yang-class mod to include the MOD I and II upgrades though.

@OT-Yuzuru[TW] Honestly I am more hyped for the ROCN units, in particular the Cheng Kung-class, the Ching Chiang-class and weirdly hyped for the amphibious and supply ships, the Chung He-class and the Wu Yi.

@Foxx_of_NOD Thanks for the compliment!
I did think about adding Zhongdong in, but I settled with Yingtan being the "special" first and only ship just like IRL.
I do plan to work on modding the 053H1/H2 frigates later on if that helps.

Could you add the second ship of the class? F532 Zhongdong. I know that of the two Type 053K ships only F531 Yingtan actually had missiles installed but unless you plan on adding 532 Zhongdong in its historical configuration it might be nice you have two of the same type for alt-history scenarios.

Another fantastic addition. It looks great! Given how little you have to work with you continue to do an amazing job. Apart from the step deck you would have to look quite closely to tell that anything was off.
