Heet's Dance of the Vampires

Description
Challenging, realistic, and long mission based upon the Dance of Vampires chapter in Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising. Mission is designed to be balanced and get you right into the action, with tough defense and fun attacks.

WARNING: This is a challenging mission for you and your computer! I tried to keep it realistic; however, kept the number of vessels and aircraft reasonable to limit strain on your computer as much as possible. Even still, only the best machines will be able to run this due to the sheer amount of units.

IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER MACHINE: Play the LITE version of this mission! Still designed to be balanced, but with about half of the units, and should be easier on your machine.

I strongly recommend you install Ossesek's "Air deck operations upgrade" mod to streamline carrier ops and flight recovery. This will make your life a lot easier.

Known Bugs:
I spawned units on the map to get you right into the action; however, this means that formation names can be incorrect upon launching from your CVs. You will need to manually check that the aircraft you select in a formation the "leader" of the formation.

Submarines don't always behave as intended. I've done my best with early triggers to get them on the right mission and at the right depth, but it appears to be somewhat random.

Enemy bombers with anti-ship loadouts will attack immediately upon detection of your fleet, regardless of orders. This can cause some missed timings.

Enemy fighters escorting bombers will always prioritize early warning birds, even if the'yre being attacked. I can't control this.

Very impressive. Played the Lite version until I was down to 10FPS, which is also when the Backfire's came into radar range...

Just finished that chapter in RSR too...

No Worries...I'll def keep it in the library.
The devs need to do some serious optimization work.
Scenarios with a lot of units and such just bottom out the FPS.

Yeah, it appears that the devs need to do some streamlining of the unit modeling and ai, otherwise the "normal" mission just craps out on all but the highest-end machines. I'll keep this mod up for now, and try to streamline it a little more. Thank you for trying it out!

You're not kidding about there being too many units to run on most computers - I tried opening the full version twice on my machine (somewhere between mid and high end) and both times it literally power cycled my computer. I'm guessing something massively overheated just trying to load it.

LITE version is loading though, wish me luck!

Very fun, very challenging. Had some extremely close calls, with Nimitz just barely intercepting one Kitchen missile with CIWS and two others crashing into the ocean within ~20 meters of it thanks to jamming. I've never had so many Tomcats in the air at once. I did lose the supply ship and two aircraft, but I believe that's better than the US forces fared in the book.

No go man.
Even the Lite version grinds everything down to like 30fps
