Description
Vietnam Era USS America Loadout MOD

This mod modifies the loadout of USS America (and nothing else) for deployments on Yankee Station off the coast of Vietnam (in 1968, 1970 & 1972).

You'll find this new version of USS America in the editor @: Nation: USA / Unit Category: Vessels / Unit Type: America 1968-class (Aircraft Carrier) / Unit Name: America 1968.

New loadout: 24 x F-4J Phantom II, 24 x A-7E Corsair II, 12 x A-6E Intruder, 4 x E-2C Hawkeye, 4 x RA-5C Vigilante, 4 x EA-6B Prowler, 3 x SH-2F Sea Sprite.

Historical notes: EA-3B Skywarrior are not implemented in the game, so they are replaced by the EA-6B Prowler in the loadout. Historically they only became operational in July 1971 and were deployed to Vietnam onboard USS America in 1972. The F-14 began replacing the F-4 Phantom II in US Navy service starting in September 1974, so it safe to use this mod for scenarios taking place before this date.

Design notes: In order to avoid (or at least minimize) potential conflict with mods or game updates that modify USS America, this mod creates a new self-sufficient vessel called 'America 1968'. So yes, with this mod you can have two USS America in game. The mod's .ini file itself is called: usn_cv_america_1968-72yankee. This complex name is (again) intended to minimize conflicts with other mods or later game updates. The F-14 Tomcat and S-3 Viking have been removed from the deck props (but not from the hangars). Sometimes this might create a minor visual bug with reflections of the canopies of the missing F-14 & S-3 still hanging in the air above the flight deck.

----------
Important (about mods and mods use):
This mod has been tested and is running perfectly on my computer (i7-11800H @ 2.30 Ghz - 16 GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) with no other mod enabled. However, since they are as many computer configurations than computer users, it's unfortunately impossible to guarantee it will work on yours.
Be aware that by installing mods for Sea Power, you are modifying your game experience from the original intended product which is (as of Dec 2024) still in EARLY ACCESS. Therefore, later game updates/patches may cause this mod to be deprecated. Although it is very unlikely, the presence of other enabled mods might cause conflicts, and the more enable mods on your computer, the greater the chance of conflict. So, to sum it up, USE MODS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you wish to clean uninstal this mod make sure to follow these steps: 1) Uncheck this mod in the mod manager. 2) Click on Accept. 3) Unsubscribe. Then make sure the mod's file is no longer in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1286220 folder.

I have a suggestion, is there any way you can remove the loadouts with the AGM-84, the AGM-123, GBU-10 and the TRAM IR camera off of the A-6E so the A-6E is at least 1971 and maybe remove the AIM-9L off of the A-7E and give it an AIM-9D like the F-4J? I know that might be a big ask however it would be really cool to see uploaded as a separate mod.
