The M255 program started out as a standalone program for a medium tank to replace the M4 sherman in 1942. Though due to a lenghty period of thorough testing it wouldnt see service until mid 1944. Its specifications in 1942 included the need for a fully tracked vehicle for anti tank and infantry support. It was meant to have a 76.2mm main gun and a way to withstand the then standart 50mm and 75mm tank gun of the japanese tanks frontally. Though by then it was not known the japanese tanks carried heavy armour piercing tungsten dart shells.

By 1944 the biggest changes was more space for a bigger engine and the switch from the 76.2mms main gun to 77mm gun
While the change in calibre is small it did give it access to a special armour piercing shell that allows it to pierce the heavily armoured tanks of the japanese army.
Out of this comes the Custer. Its good mobility give it similar speed and driving performance of a sherman, while having double the armour. Its gun is also punchy, though at distance its meh. And its reload (8 seconds) is not the best

3. while holding starters press (press multiple times) the fuel injection until the blue bar fills. Then the engine should run
