P441- Orion

History
The P441 Orion was designed in the late 30s as a primary frontline fighter in anticipation of a war to come. It was a rather simple design, with good mid altitude performance and a good top speed for its time. It also had a very decent range, though it certainly was no escort fighter.
It was used by the US, Canada and Australia as a frontline fighter and was very successful. Only after the end of the Alaskan campaign in 1945 was it replaced due to the threat of the more modern Japanese Fighter and Bomber Aircrafts and increasing ranges of the island hopping campaign.

Stats and Features

  • Size ( 11.50m [hull] x 12.75m x 3.75m )
  • Armament: 4x 30.cal M2 MG, 2x 50.cal M4 HMG, 2x 500lbs Bombs
  • 100 rounds each gun with 400 rounds backup ammo to reload
  • Top speed 350 kph
  • Crew: 1 Pilot
  • Long Range unencrypted Two way Radio
  • Good survivability for a plane, can shrug off a couple hits

Startup Procedure

  1. Enable engine Switch
  2. Enable the Battery Breaker (Bottom Left of cockpit)
  3. Either use the internal electric start switch to get the engine running, or manually spin the prop by hand (Look at the very tip of the nose for the button to spin the prop)
  4. Throttle up to around 25-50 to keep the engine running.
  5. Disable breaks and enable wheel steering to move out of the hangar into the takeoff position (it should start moving on its own without breaks)
  6. Enable the collective and set it to 100% (it’s a single button to switch which direction the collective moves)
  7. Throttle to 100% to take off

Further Notes

-The canopy moves around a little on medium and low physics because of the subgrids.
-If you crash it will explode (duh)

About the Project
The Pacific Front is a Alternate History Project about the time from 1940s through to the 70s in a time of turmoil, war and desperation. It focuses on the countries around the pacific ocean, like the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia, China and a lot more. All the the project vehicles are fictional in nature and have their own story, lore and design. The Projects creations have a tendency for high fidelity, decoration and multi crew operation.

They absolutely can. Make sure to turn off infinite fuel.
You need to throttle up slowly after you set up for takeoff. The prop torque is quite strong, so keep that in mind.
We've flown these for months, I guarantee they can fly.
