Type 96 "Osoi"

History
The Type 96 "Osoi" Medium Tank is a Japanese early-war infantry support vehicle. The powerful engine provides decent mobility, offering tactical flexibility on the battlefield.
It's designed to engage infantry and fortified positions like bunkers, providing superior range and protection compared to other up-gunned tanks.
Having had a relatively short production run with only around 300 being built, the Osoi often lacks spare parts, leading to several tanks being abandoned after breaking down. (Some "Osoi" tanks have been lost, possibly captured)

Although "Osoi" was never an official designation, the nickname was widely used by those who crewed it. The Osoi saw significant success during the Pacific island-hopping campaigns, where it effectively disrupted enemy infantry actions with its 2 coaxial machineguns and powerful main gun.
Its robust design allows it to perform well in dense forests and un-even terrain, making it good at both flanking and defensive maneuvers.

About the Project
The Pacific Front is a Alternate History Project about the time from 1940s through to the 70s in a time of turmoil, war and desperation. It focuses on the countries around the pacific ocean, like the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia, China and a lot more. All the the project vehicles are fictional in nature and have their own story, lore and design. The Projects creations have a tendency for high fidelity, decoration and multi crew operation.
