J15B Goji

History

The J15B "Goji" was Japan's ambitious attempt to field a high-performance interceptor capable of defending the skies over its rapidly expanding territories. Entering service in 1941. With a sleek, swept-wing configuration and a twin pusher propeller configuration, the Goji is mainly designed for speed, manoeuvrability. However, its unconventional layout posed significant challenges in terms of handling and reliability, which limited its effectiveness.

Armed with four rapid firing 12.7 mm cannons machine guns mounted in the nose, the J15B was intended to counter American bombers and escort fighters. Its powerful armament gave it excellent firepower, but its poor low-speed handling and limited climb rate left it vulnerable in dogfights against more agile aircraft. The Goji was best suited for rapid interception of high-altitude targets, where its speed and concentrated firepower gave it an advantage against the Skycastle bombers and flights of escort fighters.

The Goji’s operational history was mixed. Pilots reported that its unique design required careful handling, and it performed poorly on rough airstrips common in the Pacific and alaskan mainland airstrips. Maintenance crews struggled with the pusher engine configuration, which was prone to overheating and mechanical failure. Despite these issues, the aircraft saw success in defending key bases from early American bomber raids, particularly when flown by already experienced pilots.

As the war progressed and American aircraft like the P441s evolution gained dominance, the Goji’s shortcomings became more apparent. Production was eventually halted in favor of simpler, more reliable designs.

About the Project
The Pacific Front is a Alternate History Project about the time from 1940s through to the 70s in a time of turmoil, war and desperation. It focuses on the countries around the pacific ocean, like the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia, China and a lot more. All the the project vehicles are fictional in nature and have their own story, lore and design. The Projects creations have a tendency for high fidelity, decoration and multi crew operation.

Yo isn't this the J7W1

I just started it with the same instructions
though I had to throttle up to at least 30% before it would start, maybe thats the issue. The planes have similar instructions, but different start values. Some start on 20%, some 25%, some 30% etc. If one doesnt work try a higher value as it says in the description

as another note infinite fuel needs to be off for the engine to output the maximum power

hey uh me and my friend couldn't start it, we followed all the instructions, and it didn't start.
