M23-A1 Stalwart

History

The M23-A1 "Stalwart I" entered service in 1939 as a light tank designed to support infantry and conduct reconnaissance as well as do decent Anti Tank combat. Based on the proven design of earlier light tanks, the Stalwart I prioritizes speed and reliability over armuor and firepower. Armed with a 37mm cannon and a coaxial .30 caliber machine gun, it is effective against light vehicles and entrenched infantry but struggles against heavier enemy armor, and was quickly outclassed.

The Stalwart I quickly becomes a common sight in American armoured divisions in the Pacific and Alaska, where its speed allows it to traverse dense jungle trails and rugged terrain. It often spearheads advances, scouting enemy positions and flanking defenses to disrupt supply lines. It was very vulnerable to anti-tank weapons

By 1942, the Stalwart I is gradually replaced in frontline roles as more modern light tanks become available. However, it continues to serve in secondary roles, such as convoy escort and rear-area security. Though its time in the spotlight is short, the M23-A1 earns respect as a reliable vehicle during some of the war’s hardest campaigns.

Its literally the same system, difference is that I tune the mc to turn slower. Which is more realistic. TBB tanks have the issue that most of the turrets turn way too fast.

ah ok thanks. I was familiar with monitor controls from "Battered and Banished" tanks, this just felt a bit odd to me compared to those as it felt unresponsive of sorts, I don't know why.

All of the PF tanks use monitor controls. Clunky at the beginning but very useful and quite goos once you get used to them. Also saves a lot of space foe tiny vehicles.

As to why its so slow, idk. Disable infinite fuel first of all, and second make sure to gear up properly.
Top speed should be around 45kph
Its an older vehicle inlore so its also not meant to be particularily fast in the first place.
