Description
This scenario is the Soviet-side counterpart to Azores - blue, and I strongly recommend that you play the Nato-side scenario first, to preserve the element of surprise and to fully discover the area and the Soviet forces. You can find the first scenario here:

Azores - red

Comrade Commander

NATO forces have decided to reinforce their positions in the Mediterranean by deploying an additional carrier battle group. Your mission is to intercept this group. Thanks to our intelligence services, we have been able to identify the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and its escort, however due to operational constraints, we have not been able to provide you with capital ships. Our future operations in the Mediterranean depend on you.

1. Tactical Situation:
NATO forces have decided to reinforce their positions in the Mediterranean by deploying an additional carrier battle group. Your mission is to intercept this group. Thanks to our intelligence services, we have been able to identify the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and its escort, however due to operational constraints, we have not been able to provide you with capital ships. Our future operations in the Mediterranean depend on you..

2. Primary Objective:
Priority 1:
Destroy the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Its destruction is imperative to disrupt enemy operations.

Priority 2:
Destroy the supply ship USS Sacramento. This ship supports the autonomy and range of the enemy carrier battle group. Neutralising it will weaken their logistics and complicate their future operations. Its destruction is the minimum expected.

3. Secondary Objective:
Destroy additional ships if possible. Any enemy ships destroyed over and above the main objectives will strengthen the security of our forces and reduce the enemy's strategic threat. However, this objective remains secondary.

4. Threat Report:
You'll be taking on an American carrier battle group made up of :
  • a Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier,
  • a Sacramento class supply ship,
  • two Ticonderoga-class anti-aircraft cruisers,
  • a Spurance-class anti-submarine destroyer,
  • a Kidd-class anti-aircraft destroyer,
  • two Oliver Hazard Perry class missile frigates
  • a Los Angeles-class nuclear submarine.

5. EMCON
At your discretion, remember the naval air group must spot you as late as possible.

Good luck, Comrade Commander.

Like the Nato version, it's a bit of a long scenario :) And I welcome any feedback. Have fun !
