Description
Based on Hacking: Action Point Investment by robojumper, this mod allows to invest additional Action Points while hacking to increase the success chance of the hacking attempt.

While hacking, use two small arrows at the bottom of the hacking screen to change how many Action Points you want to invest. Only Action Points that are not required for the hack itself can be invested. For example, if hacking takes 1 AP, and the unit has 2 AP, then you can invest 1 AP. If the hack is turn-ending, the extra AP are invested automatically.

Increase the amount of investable Action Points by giving the unit additional Action Points via abilities like Run And Gun, Inspire and Combat Presence.

This mod can be used as an alternative or as a companion to my [WOTC] System Infiltration.

REQUIREMENTS

Can be safely added or removed mid-campaign, even mid-mission.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod modifies hacking UI by replacing MouseGuardClass on the UIHackingScreen vis a UI Screen Listener, and will be incompatible with any other mod that would try doing the same for whatever reason.

I did my best to make this mod compatible with all potentially existing hacking abilities, but obviously only abilities that actually make use of the Hacking UI will be affected.

May have weird interactions with abilities that make hacking temporarily free or otherwise refund action points spent on a hack.

Should be compatible with LWOTC, but I haven't tested.

This mod has controller support, brought over from the original robojumper's mod. Use Up / Down to change the amount of action points you want to invest.

BUG?: Use Two AP to hack Advent Lamp Post to get "Distraction" (restores used AP points within the turn) -> Specialist who did the two AP hacking only gets one AP restored. Every other squad mates gets two AP back.

Also, the chance to hack did not change with two AP expenditure, at least not on the shown percentage of success on screen.

Thanks for the report and sorry for the inconvenience. A lot of gameplay mods break with the tutorial and vice versa. I've added a patch that should prevent the mod from doing anything during tutorial missions, though it may still fail if you play regular missions first and *then* do the tutorial without restarting the game.

Hey, thank you for this amazing mod. Just wanted to drop by and inform you that this mod seems to cause consistent crashing during Gatecrasher (The Tutorial variant, not the standard intro mission), specifically during the hacking section where Jane Kelly has to hack into the door to reach the Commander.

Every time I reached this section of the tutorial while troubleshooting, the moment I select "hack" the game without fail will freeze and stop responding. Once I disabled this mod, however, testing again stopped the crash.

Besides that, though, the mod works great in the game proper. It just seems to have a knack for crashing on the tutorial.

I added a couple of checks that might help with crashes when the hack ends the mission, please let me know if it works.

Yep,can confirm,everytime I try to hack that would result in the end of the mission,it crash and result in me having to kill it if I try the 2 ap option.
Tried on gatecrasher (CI),normal train and UFO missions
