Description
12-man Inflatable Life Raft MOD

You might have noticed the 12-man inflatable life raft shows-up in the encyclopedia but, strangely enough, not in the mission editor. This mod rectifies this omission.

You can now use life rafts in your missions!

This mod is ideal to create Search & Rescue missions (SAR), with the help of a few triggers such as: 'Unit enters area' or 'Unit identified' for example. I let you use your imagination.

For SAR missions I recommend to set the life raft's side as Neutral.
The life raft can visually be spotted at a range of about 5 nm and has a small radar cross section (this is quite large for such a tiny craft, but this simulates radar reflectors).

It comes equipped with a radar. What? A radar on a life raft? Actually, the radar is used to simulate the use of an emergency position-indicating radiobeacon (EPIRB). By turning on the life raft's radar in the editor you allow ESM equipped vessels/aircrafts to pick up its signal.

Design notes: In order to avoid conflict with future game updates implementing life rafts, this mod's file has a different name than the original one. It's a very small craft but it took me quite a while to make this mod. As a matter of fact, the devs had left several lines of code to make sure the raft would not show up in the editor, would not be detectable, and would not be considered as a vessel. Finding all of them was like trying to find a needle in the proverbial haystack....or a life raft on the ocean.

Showcase scenario 'Perfect Storm'
I've made a showcase scenario for this mod. This is a simple Search & Rescue operation. No Red side, no shootings.

Important (about mods and mods use):
This mod has been tested and is running perfectly on my computer (i7-11800H @ 2.30 Ghz - 16 GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) with no other mod enabled. However, since they are as many computer configurations than computer users, it's unfortunately impossible to guarantee it will work on yours.
Be aware that by installing mods for Sea Power, you are modifying your game experience from the original intended product which is (as of Dec 2024) still in EARLY ACCESS. Therefore, later game updates/patches may cause this mod to be deprecated. Although it is very unlikely, the presence of other enabled mods might cause conflicts, and the more enable mods on your computer, the greater the chance of conflict. So, to sum it up, USE MODS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you wish to clean uninstal this mod make sure to follow these steps: 1) Uncheck this mod in the mod manager. 2) Click on Accept. 3) Unsubscribe. Then make sure the mod's file is no longer in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1286220 folder.
