[LVS] LAAT/a Attack Gunship

This addon contains several modifications to the LAAT/i and LAAT/c featured in Luna's default [LVS] - Star Wars addon to make it perform and handle similar to the AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter. In summary, it is a close range attack gunship that handles like an attack helicopter.


The Low Altitude Advanced Tactical Assaulter (LAAT/a) is a unique model in the LAAT line. Using the aerodynamic airframe of the LAAT/c and modified weapons of the LAAT/i, the LAAT/a is one of the few LAAT variants designed solely for air-to-ground combat opposed to transport. Developed by Rothana Heavy Engineering towards the end of the war, only a handful of LAAT/a's made it off the assembly line. The typical mission set of a LAAT/a includes providing close air support, ground interdiction, and force protection for troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic. LAAT/a's are routinely assigned to escort Republic convoys and conventional ground troops.

  • Increased VTOL up and down thrust rates to simulate helicopter-style flying on the repulsorlift vehicle base.
    
  • Increased ship health to 5000 (from 4000).

  • Moved front laser cannons to be controlled by gunner seat.
    
  • Added unguided rockets/missiles to pilot seat.
    
  • Increased ammo and damage on primary guided missiles.
    
  • Added flares to pilot seat.
    
  • Increased damage, ROF, and changed various other stats on front laser cannons to match the real life M230 Chain Gun that is on the Apache. It is designed to engage light vehicles, infantry, and other soft targets.
    
  • Added gunner camera to co-pilot seat to match that of the Apache's.
    
  • Added FLIR/thermal vision to the co-pilot seat.
    
  • Increased damage, ROF, and velocity on rear turret to be better suited for anti-air.
