Description
Play as the monarchs of Carpathia and Illyria, Barbara von Cilli and Matthias Corvinus; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

The Hungarian overlordship over Croatia was a fine line between vassalage and an equal partnership both during the reign independent Hungarian monarchs and during the reign of the Habsburgs. Croatia's last native king was felled in battle, allowing the Hungarians to force their union in court. The rights of both Croat nobles and Croat cities were protected by the Hungarian monarchs. The privileges enjoyed by the Croat nobility may have outweighed those enjoyed by the Hungarians at times. Croatia under the Hungarian crown became the military frontier that stood against Ottoman terror. The partnership between the constituent kingdoms was ruptured with the conclusion of World War I.

  • Replaces the Neighbourhood. Available at Feudalism. +3 Housing. Gains city defences and a ranged strike once walls are built in the city. Minor Production adjacency from districts. Standard Production adjacency from City Centres and Encampments. A city can only have one Royal Free City.
