Renfe Serie 593

Renfe's 593 series, built in 1982, is a class of DMU used by Renfe until 2009. They were designed for unelectrified medium distance services. A similar train (592 series) was built and operated at the same time, but the 593 had low reliability and were sold to Chile in 2005 and Argentina in 2009 after being retired. Some units were converted to single-car DMUs (596 series).
