and I think Hard Mode's point:
Do not upgrade battle tier before you get enough supply.
If we don't upgrade battle tier to level 3(from level 1 to level 2 is OK, because we need combat engineer and Chemical troopers), bug also not upgrade their unit too.
So, actually I clear this mission only use rifle trooper, engineer and Chemical troopers
we need many Chemical troopers :D
and after kill one plasma bug, we can call Radio Operator, so that we don't need return to base again and again.
That's all. not difficult.
Once again, thank you for playing and sharing your feedback!
Please see below.
- Difficulty Selector Added: At the start of the mission, you can now choose between Easy Mode and Hard Mode.
- Difficulty Adjustments:
Easy Mode:
- Major Sanders' survival is not required.
- Mission failure occurs if all troops and vehicles are lost.
- Additional supply and material caches are available for collection.
- No bug invasions will occur.
- Pre-placed Hornet Tankers have been removed
- Pre-placed Plasma Grenadiers have been removed
- Pre-placed Royal Gaurds have been removed
- All bugs can still emerge through random mission mutations, spawning exclusively from hives.
(Recommended for experienced commanders seeking a true challenge)
- Major Sanders must remain alive.
- No extra supply or material caches are available.
- Bug invasions will take place and target your Squads.
- All pre-placed bugs remain in the mission.
- Trigger Fix: The mission no longer fails when using the "Dropship" transport for Major Sanders.
The peacekeeper biped was also super good for me, but if I had to do it again, I think i'd just get a third hover tank and two turrets instead.
Each support building you purchase costs 2 HMG turrets, and you desperately need those to not lose the game. Any building you do not have to purchase makes this map easier. So the order to buy buildings would be whatever gives you gas troopers, then the MK2 trooper building, the hover tank building, fleet liaison building, and then stop. Do not progress to higher tiers.
You simply do not have the materiel for rainmakers or mechs or powered infantry.
Now, this mission is very very tightly constrained. You must go north and clear the hives with 1 bug tunnel. From the start bursters can 1 shot your officer, leave him at base. Or far enough back that he can't shoot but can support with his ability. That way he doesn't draw agro.
I can only imagine how painful 8 starting supply would be. It doesn't help that due to rng sometimes you lose the starting allied turrets I had to console heal them a few times to avoid restarts.
The loss condition being you losing a pretty vulnerable officer just feels awful. I would like to see a pregame option where you get the choice between having the officer and not having the officer. Like, a storymode with the officer vs a 'free play' option where you have to lose all the radio stations instead.
poorly desgin map, not truely difficult but in unfair by its nature not well balance even with the "buff" from 8 to 10 supply doesn't change the matter the map is to much unbalance and not to metion the waves that come to attack you.
you have to stop your attack at the bug hives just to save your base.
too poorly design mission, just annoying in general and not difficult but just too unfair.
