History

Considered outdated in just about every era we saw it in, this Koensayr Manufacturing classic is back once again, this time to destroy some German Separatist battleships in SE. Used prolifically by the Republic in the beginning of the Clone Wars, this speedy bomber did it's job well, blowing up many Separatist admirals' bridges to pieces. This heavy starfighter sparkled the creation of several elite squadrons, like Red Squadron, Gold Squadron and the most famous of all - the Shadow Squadron, who carried out a desperate, but a successful attack on the Malevolence. Towards the end of the war, Y-Wings were incrementally phased out by more versatile fighters like ARC-170, but squadrons that still had them - usually retained them. It is unknown whether the Galactic Empire used BTL-B's to any extent, or scrapped them right away. It is also a mystery, whether Rebel Alliance ever got their hands on any Republic-era Y-Wings, or if they only used later BTL-S3 and A4 variants.

Pros: variety in armament, solid amount of ammo, ability to fly even in the worst of atmospheres, pressurized cockpit, good maneuverability and a self defense turret.
Cons: gigantic silhouette from both the sides and the top, and a lacking amount of fuel tanks for the size.

Additional Notes:
  • Programmable blocks are turned off by default to improve performance. If you still desire to use them - access the terminal and toggle the group "Programmable Blocks" on.
  • If you want to dock the Y-Wing with a Connector - don't deploy the landing gear.
  • By the time I finished this, I kind of realized that because of the turret, my model looks more like an S3 variant. Won't change the name because that would confuse the crap out of everyone, but it's a funny coincidence.

Sorry for this rather stupid and pointless repost: the sole reason why it exists is because I couldn't update the original blueprint. Absolutely nothing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worked, and creating a new publication was the only choice. Again, sorry for inconvenience. Mod.io version should stay unchanged.
