"WHERE'S THE REINFORCEMENTS?!."
(c)

History

The backbone of the Republic Navy in the first years of the Clone Wars, this funky-looking fighter provided Clone Pilots with sufficient firepower to face any starfighter, as well as punch above it's weight class. Developed by Slayn & Korpil - the same people that would later be responsible for the B-Wing - it was a good, but rather expensive option for a mainline fighter, while not being heavy enough for certain roles. Because of that as well as high rates of attrition, V-19s were quickly replaced with newer models - so quickly in fact, that by the end of the war no Torrent fighters remained operational. Further fate of this starfighter after the war is unknown.

Pros: decent maneuverability, heavy armament in a small package.
Cons: mediocre range, a lot of mass on subgrids, vulnerable fuel tanks (again - subgrids), and awful point-of-impact offset.

Additional Notes:
  • Programmable blocks are turned off by default to improve performance. If you still desire to use them - access the terminal and toggle the group "Programmable Blocks" on.
  • This model is a weird mix of both 2003 and 2008 versions, but I think it looks cool enough to keep it that way.

SPECIAL THANKS:

Same reason for reposting as Y-Wing. Someone please kill me.
