Sultan Alparslan ruled during this period, aiming to achieve superiority over the Byzantine Empire by conducting expeditions into Anatolia.

Battle of Manzikert: The Battle of Manzikert took place on August 26, 1071. Sultan Alparslan faced off against Byzantine Emperor Romanos IV Diogenes. Strategically, Alparslan dressed his soldiers in white shrouds, presenting the battle as a life-or-death struggle. The Byzantine army faced a devastating defeat, and the Turks emerged victorious thanks to Alparslan's brilliant tactics. Romanos Diogenes was captured and later released.
