Improved Genetics Better Trait Icons

Description
Requires the Improved Genetics mod, either the 2.0 or Advanced version.

Background:

I love the Improved Genetics mod, and it's become a staple for my games. But the trait icons that the mod adds felt really out of place and pixelated in comparison to the vanilla traits. After investigating the issue, I discovered that the vanilla game uses a sort of anti-aliasing effect on traits in order to smooth the pixels and make it look higher res. But when Crimson7 added the new traits to Improved Genetics, they missed this detail, resulting in the out of place pixelated look.

But after having fixed this issue, my pixel artist side was itching. I still had some minor issues with the existing icons, and had some ideas for how to make them better. So this is an overhaul to all the trait icons in the mod, re-imagined to try to make them cleaner and more distinct.

Summary of all my changes:

1. The traits now all use the anti-aliasing effect for a smoother look

2. Burly and Delicate have been completely redesigned and overhauled. The existing icons felt way too similar to Strong and Weak, and sometimes made it hard to tell the difference between the two. So instead I went with full body portraits instead of just the arm.

3. Homely was redesigned to make it less severe looking, and a bit more distinct from ugly for the sake of differentiating between the two.

4. Bright and Comely have had some minor touch-ups to make them a bit more aesthetic

5. Tall, Short, Tiny, and Dwarf were all tweaked to make them more consistent and distinct from each other. The little guy on the icon now actually looks shorter/smaller the more short the trait is, and the guy on the tall trait was made taller. I also tweaked some positioning and the shape and color of the arrows.

6. Dim was slightly redesigned, to fit a bit better with the light bulb theme and to be a bit more aesthetic

7. I also fixed a minor localization bug. There was no death message for the Delicate trait, meaning that if a character died from it, the game would say they died from "delicate_death". So I just added that in, copying the Weak death message.

@Ketsuban That's a really good idea and I'm not sure why I didn't think to do it. But idk if I'll get around to it soon because my PC stopped working a couple months ago, and the laptop i'm using doesn't have all my files and software so it would be a lot more of a hassle to create the comparison image.

Could you provide a before/after comparison screenshot?

Yes! I'm glad you made this small mod because when you play with genetics 2 the icons require you to hover over them all the time. that and im glad people still make content for CKII

The traits are burly and delicate. The burly one is meant to be a slightly muscular guy flexing his arm muscle, and the delicate one is meant to kind of frail and dejected.

Ah, I get that.
Oh btw now that I am here, what are the icons with the man with his finger pointed up and the other man looking down disheartened supposed to represent?

Yeah, it could be a combination of my eyesight not being the best and not having a big enough screen. I was always able to tell the difference between homely and ugly, but I had to either stop and really focus on it or get a bit closer to the screen to be absolutely sure. Just scrolling through the character tab, it wasn't easy to differentiate between the two.

Homely looks very different in the base mod from ugly. Never once was I confused by it

And yeah, my opinion, which is why I wrote 'imo'

@✪ Tax Everyone's personal tastes are of course gonna be different, so that's perfectly fair.

But in case you're curious, I will say that most of my changes had specific gameplay reasons and were thought through pretty thoroughly. The original homely icon is super similar to the ugly trait, which makes it hard to tell the two apart at quick glance. Also, it looked a bit too ugly to me to fit the word homely, which should really just be plain and maybe somewhat unattractive, not significantly deformed.

imo a downgrade
Especially the homely icon
