Invasion of Malta (Updated)

A strong Soviet landing force supported with an Orel Class carrier group is attempting to assault the NATO-leaning island archipelago of Malta. The likely objective of the Soviets is to capture the strategic port of Valletta. They will also most likely install ASuW and anti-air missile sites on the islands to harass any NATO asset transiting the area. NATO has already took some preliminary measures to prepare the island against a Soviet attack but it's not an optimal force. A US task force was assembled and sent to defend the island along with other assets provided by various NATO members to eliminate or rout the invading force. If Malta falls under Soviet control, this will surely have a severe impact on Central Mediterranean operations.
