Description
The Badger Fighting Vehicle (BFV) is an American tracked armored fighting vehicle of the United States developed by FMC Corporation and now manufactured by BAE Systems Land & Armaments, formerly United Defense. The M7 Badger is designed to transport infantry or scouts with armor protection, while providing covering fire to suppress enemy troops and armored vehicles. It started development in 1968 and entered service in 1980.

The M7 Badger can carry six to three passengers or scouts with armor protection. It has the capability to destroy enemy armor and maybe MBTs (Main Battle Tanks). The M7 Badger is a Infantry Fighting Vehicle the carries 6 passengers but could be configured into a Cavalry Fighting Vehicle with it carrying 3 passenger with more ammo.

The M7 Badger has been in many wars like the gulf war in 1990 to 1991 and Operation Desert Worm in 1998 to 1999. During Operation Desert Worm and total of 34 M7 Badgers where destroyed 22 by A.C.F. and 12 by friendly fire. M7 Badgers were seen with slat armor or ERA armor to better protect the crew and tank.

The M7 Badger is armed with a 25MM M158 Bushmaster chain gun, a small 7.62MM machine gun, and 2x BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles. It has a max speed of 46 MPH on road and 23 MPH off road. Each M7 Badger cost 1-2 million dollars USD depending on variant. In 1990 the U.S. Army made a Armored Multipurpose Badger called the M8A1 APC that be configured to suit different purposes.
