Multi-Map Linked Storage

Description
Advanced storage shelves that transfer items between different map tiles. The Exports Shelf sends items to a linked Imports Shelf, enabling automated, cross-map resource management.

Perfect for large, multi-settlement (or multi-floor) colonies, supplying materials to establish a new outpost, or sending valuable resources back to your main colony from one of your caravans.

Features
  • Exports Shelf: Sends items to a linked Imports Shelf on a different map tile.
  • Imports Shelf: Receives items from a linked Exports Shelf.
  • Auto-Transfer: Toggle automatic transfers via the Exports Shelf interface.
  • Cross-Compatibility: Fully compatible with MultiFloors, enabling cross-level transfers.

Usage Instructions

  1. Construction:
    • Build the Exports Shelf and Imports Shelf from the Furniture tab.
    • Ensure they are placed on separate map tiles (or floors with MultiFloors).

  2. Linking Shelves:
    • Open the Exports Shelf interface.
    • Click the 'Link imports shelf' button.
    • Select the map containing the Imports Shelf.
    • Link the Imports Shelf by selecting it from the list.

  3. Unlinking/Re-Linking:
    • Use the Exports Shelf interface to unlink or re-link shelves.

  4. Power and Activation:
    • Ensure both shelves are powered to function.
    • Toggle Auto-Transfer on or off via the Exports Shelf interface.

  5. Transfer Limits:
    • Transfers pause when the Imports Shelf reaches its limit of 3 stacks.

Requirements
  • Research Prerequisite: Microelectronics
  • Construction:
    • Exports Shelf:
      • Cost: 50 Steel, 3 Industrial Components, 1 Advanced Component, and 20 of any Stuff material.
      • Power Usage: 1800 W.
    • Imports Shelf:
      • Cost: 50 Steel, 3 Industrial Components, 1 Advanced Component, and 20 of any Stuff material.
      • Power Usage: 1000 W.

Additional Notes
  • Map Restrictions: Shelves cannot link within the same map tile. If you're looking for local map automated item transfer, please refer to the Auto-Transfer Shelves mod.
  • Power Dependence: Both shelves must be powered and linked to operate.

Compatibility
  • Game Version: RimWorld 1.5+.
  • Mod Conflicts: None known, plays nice with MultiFloors & LWM’s Deep Storage. If it steps on any toes, let me know in the comments.

Very helpful with multifloor mod, as the management of resources across levels is quite pain in the ass. (not to complain about the mod itself, this are first-world-problems)

Can we link multiple import shelves to a single export ? or one import to multiple exports with filters ? or even both at the same time ?

Ok this is just amazing and very helpful.

Sorry, I completely forgot, the waste packs do not fit on the shelves in the first place.
I solved the problem by using another mod that allows them to be placed on the shelves.
Apologies for my rudeness.

Thanks for a very nice mod!
By the way, I have to ask, is the inability to transfer toxic waste packs the intended behavior?
If you could add this as an option, my colony covered in toxic waste packs would be very evolved!

@SilkCircuit Wow. Awesome development! Thank you!

Does this works with save our ship 2? I have done everything according to the steps and successfully linked with the orbiting ship, but the goods were not transferred and remained on the export shelf on ground as well as orbiting ship.

Love this. Could do with hunting camps :D

Would be good for energy sharing [such as faux powerlines]. I think resource sharing OP but could be linked to things like trains and trade.
