MCS-160 'Escortcraft' Design

After the unsuccessful of the MCS-150's design due to the high cost of ships, the designer are trying to find a way to make a ships that is way more affordable and possess a better armor protection system. And with that, comes the MCS-160 design.

The MCS-160, also dubbed as MCS-150 Flight II, is a vastly more improved designs of the MCS-150 spacecrafts. Featuring a better and way more cheaper hull protection system, plus with additional local made weapon system, made the design of these ships, are not only better at protection and firepower, but also could cut the cost of per ships substantially.

Following the design philosophy of the MCS-170 series, the MCS-160 is designed with 3 different variant. The MCS-160C, MCS-160F, and MCS-160P.


MCS-160C
The standard version of the MCS-160 family. Equipped with SENDRA Railgun systems, CLAYREON Laser Solutions, and a new SM-7C KKV in a Vertically Launched System (VLS).

MCS-160F
The Extended-Range variant of MCS-160C. Providing more Delta-v's, thus increasing the ship mission deployment range and time. Weapon specifications are similar to MCS-160C.

MCS-160P
A lighter variant of the MCS-160C, with reduced combat capabilities designed to fulfill patrol missions.
