More Useful UZO Sight

In 1 collection by DarkRaven
More Useful Optics
3 items
Description
Adjusts the vanilla UZO and binoculars to have a more useful reticule.

Features a horizontal scale in degrees and a vertical scale in centiradians (10 milliradians).

On the Extended Periscope setting, the UZO magnification is 1x and 10x, while binoculars are at about 6.67x magnification.
On the Realistic Periscope setting, the UZO magnification is 1x while the binoculars are at about 1.85x magnification.

Savegame compatible.

Compitable for version 2025.1+. Incompatible with previous versions.

A giant heaping thank you to Tofof (Workshop: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/tofof/myworkshopfiles/?appid=494840) for figuring out a workaround to the dim bearing illumination.

@Alex, extended and realistic have different base magnifications, which is why they look different. It's also why extended is about 40 degrees horizontal and realistic is about 12. They have been individually calibrated to the mod description.

@DarkRaven, in the mod description I see on the realistic screen a different vertical scale than on the extended, which really looks like 10 mrad. I use the first one, it has a wider grid. But I have already measured the screen pixels and made an approximate translation of the values.

@Alex, the vertical division is 10 mrad at 1x regardless of setting, equivalent to most periscope markings. With the binoculars on realistic, you are correct, you can assume the effective magnification is 1.85.

Hi, thanks for the mod and I have a question: in realistic mode, what is the division value of the vertical scale? And did I understand correctly that the resulting angular value then needs to be multiplied by 1.85, if we are not looking with an UZO, but with binoculars?
