Description
PLEASE READ after playing!

Tiny gimmick map, which showcases an uncommon move in ON/OFF chambers.

Difficulty: 0.5/10
No execution skills required.

List of unintended things:
  • cube tossing with wild mouse movements

Explanation:
As far as I know, the move works for turrets, cameras and frankencubes. When the player gets their gun via blue or orange ON/OFF-button AND is holding one of the mentioned objects, they will "freeze". I have no idea why and suspect bad coding. With some unreliable bruteforce methods it's also possible to unshackle the frozen objects.

Trivia:
  • made for the current Mikeastro/PMaM-contest, where you had to build an ON/OFF test
  • it's also my interpretation of Portal 2's campaign map Chapter 2: The Cold Boot (Test Chamber 1)
  • to all authors out there: Please don't use this technique, it's just silly. Be careful when using turrets or frankencubes in ON/OFF maps!
  • in 2017/2018 I didn't know how to create good puzzles, so I used the shown move in a large, terrible map. Masochists who want to play that, click here.

Huge thanks to Nobody No-One and Mattchew for playtesting. Make sure to visit their profiles.

Music: "Four" from the Rexaura-Mod by Ben Bryant (Mevious).

Feedback and playthrough videos are welcome.
Have fun!

Found it in the first 30 sec by total accident. Could have just as easily taken me 30 min. This would be quite the devious thing to put in a puzzle. Nice showcase of the move tho

That's an odd one. The 3 entities you noted as being affected by this glitch are all NPCs, so I'm guessing being forced to drop somehow breaks their vphysics behavior. I wonder if you could get it to work with cores as well, though I believe there are parts of the campaign where you force drop wheatley, so they may be more robust there

Not an easy one.

Played a map a little while ago, where I managed to get a regular cube stuck in mid air by accident
Didn't involve a portal on/off button, but perhaps a related glitch?
