NSW Lgnss - Container Car [MCS]

The SR Lgnss is an optimal wagon for container transports. Its very cheap costing a mere $3500, and light having a weight of 810. It has TCP 1.3 installed, because of that there is a key button located just behind the front axle to disable the handbrake. It has a optimized physics mesh to ensure best performance with longer trains. It is somewhat based on the Lgns 081, which is a container car built from Hbins 763 frames, today part of Green Cargos fleet.


During the 70s, container traffic was exploding on Sawyer, since it meant lengthy loading between ships and trains could be shortened to just a few hours. To meet the rising demand Sawyer Rail ordered North Sawyer Works (NSW) to design a simple yet effective container car, capable of 100km/h when loaded, and 120km/h when empty. This would become the Lgnss. Hundreds were ordered by both SR and private operators, and they proved incredibly useful.

In recent year many wagons have been upgraded to support a speed of 120km/h when loaded, and when SRs wagons where going through this procedure, they where also painted blue. Giving them the nickname "Blue Ants".
