Description
Part 1 of a series covering the War in Europe

The year is 1978. For over a year, the war has been raging in Europe. While the frontlines in Germany have devolved into a deadly stalemate, the Soviet Union has been making steady progress occupying Norway.

At the heart of Task Force 60, USS Constellation has been supporting NATO operations in the Baltic Sea and the contested regions of Norway. However, with recent Soviet advances along the southern Norwegian coast, TF 60 has been ordered to retreat to allied waters in fear of Soviet attacks.

The Soviets, aware of the opportune moment, launch a massive strike against USS Constellation. Now, the carrier must carefully monitor the unfolding situation and use the full power of her airwing to thwart hostile operations.

Can you weather the storm, Admiral?

Note: This is intended to be a challenging mission. To survive, you will need to manage your munitions carefully and remain vigilant at all times!

Newest update fixed it. I was finally able to play the scenario and it was pretty great. Thanks

@NJNavy Much apprechiated, love to hear that. That's exactly how I had this scenario in mind!

Yeah. I think currently there are some bugs with giving orders to units. Let's wait this one out and see what comes of it. Thanks however for all your responses :)

Same here. Maybe it has something to do with SA-10. I quit the game when I got stuck and the AAR says 5056 x SA-10 destroyed.

I had the same issue @buckoff124 had. After a while all my units became incapable of firing any weapon. Though I feel this is probably an issue with the game and not your scenario.

I was on the BETA branch during this playthrough.

What a fantastic scenario. Big AAW battle. This was the first time i've seen a "Costly victory" rating. Lost a lot of F14s battling this one out. Great work!!! For the issue of forces starting out at 0 x 0, just unpause scenario

OK so the game breaking isn't just your Scenario. It is happening in Escalation Grenada also. So that is a me issue or a game issue.

I haven't been able to play this mission successfully. Eventually no weapons will work, and the direction indication for my units gets stuck. The game is still running along happily but it doesn't respond all commands. Load in is also weird. Probably not the fault of yours, just a limitation of early access game with and all the units used.

It would also be nice if there was about another 5 minutes to set up before enemy contact was made. The ships are too close together to be an effective ASW or AAW screen, and the CV needs an E-2C up and radiating before the action starts. It would also be nice to start the ships about 10 miles further south so intercepting fighters are not immediately in the enemy SAM range.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I have slightly adjusted the position of the airfield to avoid any houses in the vicinity of Aalborg.
I was however unable to reproduce the bugged unit icons, over mutliple tries - that might be a problem with the base game. Good to hear you found a workaround.

Hi, the unit icons seem to get stuck off the coast of Africa at mission start. Spamming the esc menu a few times seems to fix it. Apart from that there's a group of houses on the airfield strip but seems to go away when you click on another unit.
