In the middle of trying-to-find-time-to-work-on-gmod period of my life, I was able to complete this way overdue Assault Rifles DLC weapons. After over a hundred hours of man time and many wasted days, I present you SIX new weapons released after the launch of Cold War. Certainly hope it was worth the wait.


1) Groza

"Full-auto assault rifle. Excellent handling speeds with improved damage. Fast fire rate and fair damage range."

The Cold War Groza is probably the most annoying thing to work with and look at. They stylized it a lot for some reason and managed to make a model that crashed windows twice(yes, caused literal blue screens). Ironsights of the weapon probably speak for itself and I really hate how the gun is held without any foregrip attachments. The reload animations are also kinda weird with an underhand charge.

Originally in game I have never used it and probably never will. I do not condone it anyway. Please especially do not use this with DUAL WIELD MAGNUMS AND GARCIA OPERATOR.

Yeah for customization of this mess there are a bunch of options as always but the hard limit of 8 attachment slots and 6 options are still in place and some of the attachments themselves are as mediocre and repetitive as it gets with a cold war weapon. You can attach the AK thermal scope. Also you are able to rotate the rear sight if you want the ironsights to look less bad.


2) FARA 83

"Full-auto assault rifle. High fire rate and muzzle velocity provides reliable stopping power from long range. Slightly heavier recoil with slower handling speeds."

Solid good work from the devs making a REAL gun that was never featured in a game before and portraying it accurately. They are continuing this trend with Black Ops 6 which is good but they are doubling down on the model abbreviating and stupid namings for the guns. In contrast, this is one of the rare weapons in cold war that has the actual name of the gun. I personally like how this Argentinian assault rifle looks and performs. I actually made this on ArcCW base before, if it felt familiar to you.

Similarly with the groza, I can not recall myself using this in game. My limited experience with it is probably from picked up weapons from the ground and it was kinda alright.

This gun has a surprising amount of unique attachments. The real stock of the gun is the Tactical Stock. The bipods are unusable due to them not being rigged correctly. I thought of making the rear sight adjustable between the four positions but then decided against it due to the weird design, I may make it work if there is enough demand.


3) C58

"Full-auto assault rifle. High damage at close range with a slower fire rate. Fast bullet velocity and reliable recoil control with less ammo capacity."

The BO1 HK21 returns. The devs seem to have some curious interest regarding CETME since this is one of two CETME weapons in this game and there is another in Black Ops 6. The model looks really good and animations are alright. I made this weapon on ArcCW base before, but you can probably tell how inferior that version is compared to this one.

I actually remember using this a little bit in BOCW, but then I switched over to the EM2. It is okay depending on how many shots you land.

Big talking point for the attachments should be the 5.56 conversion magazine. In cold war it is the 60 rnd drum mag that does the conversion, but the magazine is still full 7.62 length and there is a salvo speed mag that is curiously made exactly shaped like how its meant as a 5.56 conversion. There is even a magazine well adapter model made for it. My only guess is they changed it last second for balancing reasons. So you can expect that I have changed this and gave the conversion to the salvo mag instead.


4) EM2

"Full-auto assault rifle. Well rounded British rifle with good firing control. Built in low-zoom optic improves accuracy. Slower fire rate with reliable range."

My favorite assault rifle on cold war, also made in ArcCW base before. The animations and mechanism of the gun is very unique, with satisfying sounds. They unfortunately ruined the reload sounds after an update but I made sure the old ones are selectable like the ArcCW version.

This is my most used assault rifle on cold war. I have great memories using this on hardcore mode.

Hilariously there are zero unique attachments for the weapon. However the speed mag empty reload is one of my most favorite animations in the whole game.


5) Grav

"Full-auto assault rifle. Fast firing rifle with improved range. Fastest bullet velocity in class with modest damage and moderate recoil."

The classic galil is back. Unfortunately with FARA 83 reload animations.

Cold War was kinda falling off by the time this gun came out so I haven't had the opportunity to use this.

Included are two unique magazine attachments and some other unique attachments.


6) Vargo 52

"Full-auto assault rifle. Good damage at mid-range with a fast fire rate. Improved muzzle velocity and reliable handling for steady firing control."

I assume this gun was scrapped but then someone decided to add it in a VERY post launch update.

I have not used this gun at all but I have seen people use this a lot and I can't say that I like it too much.

Customization is just whatever.

-As you may have guessed, I am having a lot of trouble finding time to develop weapons. I push updates to github whenever I work on something and you can check it out. Mind that content on my github might be broken or sub-standard as they have not been polished yet or enough for a full workshop release. -You can get BOCW attachments here.

-I have changed the method and source for making my materials. I now use textures from Warzone and different tools. It is both faster to do and looks better in my opinion and this may affect the filesizes. I plan on replacing the materials in older ARC9 weapon packs with better ones when I have the time. Massive thanks to ZaihnY and MushroomGuy.

firing sounds across all ARs tend to break in automatic fire in multiplayer (for me at least)

That's weird the multipliers didn't apply for the non dlc assault rifle

It is not the same as walking speed, the multipliers are adjusted according to cold war movement speed ratios(base speed, sprint speed, ads speed etc.). It probably feels like walking speed because of how fast the sprint speed is in gmod by default.
