Once upon a time, a group of Lizirdards evolved to properly fly and decided to fly into space. Because, you know, they could do that for some reason. They eventually landed on an alien planet and adapted to the new lands. They relocated their wings from their thighs to their chests. They are very expressive and use their wings and tail to communicate. They can "open" and "close" the things on their tail, hiding the spike. They use this to communicate a basic intention; closed means they have no malicious intent and will not attack and open means they are willing to fight. Their wings and eyes detail this information; you can tell easily if one is angry, sad, or calm.
