Description
About The Mod

"You are weak,
Your courage will fail you,
Your friends will betray you,
You will die..."

An evil older than the stars lurks deep beneath the desert sands, the master of madness plots and schemes, biding his time as the qiraji hosts prepare. The War of the Shifting Sands shall begin anew, and Elysium will kneel before the might of the Old God!

This mod adds the Scarab Lord class to the game, which is based on the Ahn'Qiraj raids/related zones from World of Warcraft. From the silithids found across southern Kalimdor, to the twilight's hammer cultists, and Ahn'Qiraj itself, almost everything related to Ahn'Qiraj has been included in this class. All of the bosses from the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj & Temple of Ahn'Qiraj have had their fight mechanics reproduced about as accurately as CoE can accommodate.

The class can be somewhat complex starting out so check out this handy Scarab Lord Beginners Guide, it also includes an FAQ that I'll be updating as necessary.

The class was tested on and intended to be played with the following settings:

Map Size: Enormous
Era: Any/Random
# of AI: 8-16 (teams of 1-3)
AI Difficulty: Marquis
Wilder: Enabled
Multiplayer: Co-op (encouraged/optional) [Never Tested in Versus, YMMV]

The Scarab Gate
At the beginning of the game, C'thun & his qiraji servants are trapped within Ahn'Qiraj by the Scarab Gate's enchantments, while silithids begin to spread their Hives and seize control of the surrounding area. Raise a mighty Qiraji Host and shatter the bonds of the Scarab Gate to begin your war upon Elysium!

Silithid Hives
The silithids make up the bulk of C'thuns servants, working tirelessly to spread his influence. The chitter of claws and the hum of insect wings can be heard all across Elysium's deserts. Though they are generally the weakest units available to you they more than make up for this with a functionally infinite supply of reinforcements.

Qiraji Army
Though the silithids are many they can often be unreliable - the Qiraji however form the backbone of the Old God's forces - able to be recruited quickly in large numbers, these elite warriors are a match for any fighting force in Elysium.

Twilight's Hammer Cult
The Twilight's Hammer and their elemental allies have sworn fealty to the god of madness; by conducting eldritch research and spreading their enclaves among human settlements, they significantly bolster the rate with which Ahn'Qiraj's might is restored.

Ahn'Qiraj
Ahn'Qiraj itself is a force to be reckoned with - the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj are lorded by Ossirian the Unscarred and his Anubisaths, while the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj itself contains the sprawling Vekniss Hive buried deep within the plane of Agartha.

The God of Madness
At the heart of the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj lies C'thun, the Old God. C'thun possesses many powerful rituals that allow him to influence and bend Elysium to his will. If you've ever played Age of Mythology, in a way these function sort of like his 'God Powers'. C'thun gains more and increasingly powerful rituals as his servants multiply and expand Ahn'Qiraj's influence.

Mod Compatibility
The mod should be compatible with pretty much any other mod, it adds a handful of new terrains which are the thing most likely to conflict with other mods, but does not alter any existing terrains. Little about the base game has been altered in any way. It is as always compatible with all of my other mods.

If there is a compatibility issue it is probably related to conflicting numbers being used, if that is the case simply find the conflicting numbers and alter them in the c5m of this or the other mod. The following are the relevant numbers used in the mod:

Custom Terrains 920 to 934
Terrain Groups -1054 to -1056 (& -1068, a group I used in Raise the Levies!)
Variables 810 to 815

Future Updates

I will likely do a balance update or two in the future as, particularly in the late game, the class is somewhat overpowered. I will also be adding several new units and rituals at some point as well.

Bonus:
Also enjoy these two songs I generated on Suno to get into the mood for working on the mod:

I like the nerubians but I'm not a big fan of WotLK [and consequently not very familiar with northrend content] so I hadn't planned to use much from there.

If it's not in WC1-3, Vanilla/TBC the chances of me doing it are pretty slim.

Suddenly got a thought to try CoE5 again, and this mod is very much welcome. ...though I much prefer Azjol-Nerub. I suppose you're not planning on making another bug faction mod?

I would love a Burning Legion faction, corrupting and opening portals everywhere. Even if it's only a Beta version I would enjoy it

That would be very helpful actually; what's your name on discord? I'll add you.

And yes there is a chance of the burning legion in some capacity down the road.

Also, I can help you with the unit descriptions if you want.

Would there be any possibility of a Burning Legion faction in the future?

I'm glad you like it; and yeah it is fairly similar to Ashen Emperor in some ways, I tried not to have it be too similar though.

This is really good! I was comparing it to the Ashen Empire class only to realize you made that one as well. Thanks for the hard work! I do think it'd be a lot of fun to try in Dom 6.
