Description
SP/MP COOP-10. Fifth mission in the series.

Required addons:

Mission
Perditus and Derelictus will eliminate the plantation owner, Mr. Simonides Dionysodoros, believed to be sleeping in his manor on the north-west side of the plantation. Perditus and Derelictus will also find and destroy the wooden containers loaded with fresh olive tree saplings before disappearing north.

Situation
December 8th 2024: by browsing old news articles, PMC Versus local high command (callsign 'Corona') has learned that the number one business man on Altis, Mr. Simonides Dionysodoros has invested not only in ouzo but also in olive oil business. He currently owns the only olive plantation on Altis but the whole patch of trees were lost to a forest fire this autumn. Mr. Dionysodoros has ordered a large quantity of olive tree saplings which are currently waiting at the plantation for spring to be planted.

Corona has inserted two Versus teams in the vicinity of the plantation: the surgical team (callsign 'Perditus') and the supporting team (callsign 'Derelictus'). The mission has two objectives: Versus operators are to destabilize the Altian economy by eliminating Mr. Dionysodoros and making sure the production does not continue by destroying the saplings. The teams will use the cover of darkness and fog to infiltrate the area, complete the objectives and leave to AO to the north.

Since Versus operators have not yet been able to recover their buried weapons from the south tip of Altis, the teams will have something less than ideal at their disposal.

Enemy
Corona estimates that the plantation and the manor are heavily guarded by Mr. Dionysodoros' personal guard detail. Although their equipment is not believed to be military grade, they have a reputation of fighting effectively off Nekron Chelia in the past. As PMC Versus learned last month, Mr. Dionysodoros' investments on Altis are recognized and protected by the AAF. Corona has located the nearest AAF quick reaction force about 700 meters south-east and the Versus operators should be expecting enemy reinforcements from that direction.

Corona advices the teams to observe the enemy before engaging and leaving the AO before the AAF forces can respond - Versus forces will be at significant disadvantage againt organized military forces.

Corona advices Versus operators again to make use of flashlights, flares and chemlights since Versus has not been able to acquire NVGs. The plantation guards and workers also lack NV capabilities and sneaking in should be relatively easy. Corona has chosen this moonless night in particular for the operation.

Yeah, if i said tension could be cut with knife, it would be a massive understatement.
We actually ran into that APC in pitch black, we just heard it's engine creeping towards us. Not only that we couldn't see it, I couldn't even see with what I'm aiming at. It was just a weird mixture of educated guesswork, luck and reflex.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V76EVj3iifY (turn up the sound to hear the engine, and ignore the text)

Spoiler: we did lose two guys there, but considering that if the shot missed, we wouldn't have any chance of completing the mission, and also couldn't restart it, it was pretty much the best case scenario.

This was one of my favorite missions in the campaign. The atmosphere was intense and the scenario's location was full of context.

Part 2 (comment was too long)

We turned back, took control of derelictus demo expert, he had 1 OG7 that I planned to use against boxes, ran into the apc, OG7 proved to be just what we needed, knocked out the gun and the wheels only. Killed crew stole the APC, just to keep us alive if not to kill, my bro spotted the boxes (turned out I ran past them, twice, comletely ignoring them) we destroyed them, and rolled out in the APC.

Cool mission, I didn't expect to enjoy this one, flashlights are really weak, and it's completely dark, but turned out enjoyable.

We tried the sneaking approach, however 1 guard (could be more, but for 1 i'm sure) near the manor had nvg's, so he spotted us. Quickly turned into a violent firefight, but since we were near manor, managed to take out the owner without too much trouble.

We fought to the plantation marker, but just about at the marker, there was a red container with a chemlight, next to it was a ammobox containing 1 satchel. Surely this must be it, I thought, wooden boxes are inside the container for additional protection :D. As we moved away and the satchels exploded, I saw this was not the case.

Great mission! Loved the movement up to the mansion while Derelictus was holding the reinforcements back.
