[WOTC] Halo: Infinite - Mirage (SPI) Core

Description
Mod Info:
This cosmetic mod adds almost the entirety the Mirage core from Halo: Infinite to XCOM 2!

This mod applies the options to all armour tiers and for all soldier types and works for both male and female body types.

I've added some parts from Mark V [B] that I thought fit to pad out the pack a little. They'll look better than the actual Mark V [B] release, too, so enjoy!

PLEASE READ: INVISIBLE HEADS are now a REQUIREMENT to prevent clipping.

It's the most sensible way I see to move forward considering the odd dimensions of some of Infinite's helmets, and it saves me stressing about scaling each individual helmet separately. The above mod is only a requirement if you want to use the helmets; if you don't care for them, then you don't technically need it.

You might notice some weird shading in the character pool / character customisation screen: this is completely cosmetic (lol) and doesn't actually appear on the Tactical layer. It's a result of Unreal 3 being Unreal 3, as far as I'm concerned.

Gauntlet weapons (ripjack, skulljack, psi blades, etc.) probably won't look great because I didn't account for them. Consider using mods that either replace their visuals or offer an alternative (like skirmisher swords).

Visors still aren't tintable, sorry!

Please be aware that I'm not overly concerned with maximum compatibility between cores; some stuff will work better than others.

If you do notice any bugs/issues, please let me know in the comments and I'll see what I can do. Just remember, I don't consider clipping to be an issue.

  • sdark, N/A, Max, Unslain and Kexx for their help whenever I get stuck :^)

If I've missed a credit somewhere here, please let me know and I'll fix it asap. As you can see, it's already a pretty big list!
This mod wouldn't have been possible without these awesome people listed above, so if you like the mod, thank them too!
If you're interested in Halo stuff, check out The Halo Archive Discord! And if you're interested in modding, check out the XCOM 2 Modding Discord too.

NOTE:
I don't do requests or commissions.
This has all been done for free, in my own free time, and is being uploaded "as-is".
If something ends up being broken or there's something I want to include later, there's a chance I'll get around to it, but no promises.

Rasmus I'd love to contribute to these Infinite armor mods. If you're willing to get in touch to run me through your workflow, I'd gladly pitch in some of my free time to either add more variants to these existing packs or help get the other armor cores implemented. :csdsmile:

Any chance of getting the Mark VII core?

Hey, I was debugging someone's log files earlier and noticed that this mod (and Mark IV Core to a lesser extent) cause a LOT of "duplicate key" log spam, in the order of many megabytes worth.

These are the culprits:

bCanUseOnCivilian=false, bVeteran=False, bCanUseOnCivilian=false

...and...

DLCName="MirageCore", DLCName="MirageCore"

Find-and-replacing the above with these solves it:

bCanUseOnCivilian=false, bVeteran=False

...and...

DLCName="MirageCore"

Fixing these also seems to speed up startup a fair bit from what I've been told. Any chance of getting this pushed out in an update? Thanks.

Unfortunately your mods on halo crash the game dead, no idea what the reason is. I can provide logs

@Guardian can make a link to it?

Hey I love the mods! I use your armor pieces the most out of all the mods I have for armor. I was wondering if you had any plans to do the Rakshasa core armor pieces?

@schreiber yeah on the xcom 2 modding discord he has a channel dedicated to this mod and updates on there
