Description
The M1126 Stryker ICV (infantry carrier vehicle) is an APC (armoured personnel carrier) "derived from the Canadian LAV III/Swiss MOWAG Piranha IIIH 8x8" (Wikipedia). The Stryker offers protection against small arms fire and can mount a .50 caliber machine gun, 40mm automatic grenade launcher or an M240 machine gun in its Protector RWS (remote weapons station).
The M1128 MGS (mobile gun system) is based on the Stryker's hull, but had a turret mounting a 105mm M68A1E4 cannon. It was the replacement to the M551 Sheridan, but only ever 142 were built. It was retired at the end of 2022.
