Heritage Steam

Description
Welcome aboard the railway adventure! Our esteemed Railway Company chairman, Lord Stafford Featherstonehaugh (pronounced FAN-SHAW), has an insatiable love for steam trains. Lucky for him, he enjoys a stunning bird's eye view of the local heritage railway from his castle tower.

But disaster struck when the planned steam day faced cancellation due to a volunteer shortage. Not only would the sight of majestic steam trains be missed, but the Lord would also suffer a significant loss of income. You see, steam days draw many travellers who disembark at the station and catch specially chartered buses to visit the castle, where the real money is made.

That's when the Lord heard about your quick, logical mind and offered you the chance to save the day! Rest assured, you'll still be paid by the company, but you'll earn every penny.

Brace yourself for a solo mission—manning the signal box all by yourself. Usually, this task is handled by two volunteers: one for the Up line and one for the Down line. But fear not! The Lord has complete faith in your abilities.

You'll be dropped off at the station car park, so take a moment to soak in the scenery. The signal box will be right in front of you—just go through the white gate on the left and up the steps. The trains are ready and waiting for your command.

In a unique twist, our heritage line runs both goods and passenger trains. The goods trains cater to those who have purchased a Steam Loco Driver Experience ticket, primarily sticking to the two central lines. You have the power to bring them onto a platform for the crowds to admire up close. Unlike the passenger trains, the goods trains won't stop for 90 seconds unless you hold them at the signal. And remember, running passenger trains straight through the station might upset the Lord due to potential income loss from castle tours.

The weather looks fair, so good luck and enjoy the ride!
