Rho-class Medical Shuttle (Vanilla)

Description
Mod.io version is available here.[mod.io]

"To die for one's people is a great sacrifice. To live for one's people, an even greater sacrifice."
(c)

History

A further evolution of the Nu-class, Rho-class was called into service as a heavier lift vehicle for all branches of the Galactic Republic military. Often dismissed as a mere update to keep the platform relevant, in actuality Rho-class was more of an attempt to reuse as many components as possible to build a completely new shuttle. Being a much heavier frame, Rho boasts increased range and cargo capacity, as well as brand new interfaces on the bottom of the shuttle to interact with various external cargo loads. One particularly unusual user of Rho-class shuttles was Republic Medical Corps, who greatly appreciated the ability to carry increased amounts of wounded.

Having outlived it's own government, Rho shuttles continued their service into the new age. Now dull and gray, these transports became the primary transports of the young Empire, which wanted to cut down on combat-oriented LAATs. Both Nu and Rho would continue delivering veteran Clone Troopers and brand new TK Stormtroopers to their missions for many years to come, until eventual replacement by newer Lambda and Sentinel.

Pros: decent maneuverability, good amount of seats, bottom mounting interfaces, unlimited customization potential.
Cons: one of the biggest shuttles ever made, and thus hard to fit into anything else.

Additional Notes:
  • Programmable blocks are turned off by default to improve performance. If you still desire to use them - access the terminal and toggle the group "Programmable Blocks" on.
  • Entering Pilot an Co-Pilot seats is a bit more tricky now: you have to aim up for the Seats in between little gaps in the 3D models of the blocks themselves.
  • Pilot and Co-Pilot seats are on a subgrid, so that's why you need Remote Control to fly the ship. Since all thrusters are on the main grid, Subgrid Thrusters script is not used / required.
  • Because wings have so much mass in them, rotor movement is pretty sluggish (though this was partially remediated).
  • So, container... it is actually pressurized, thanks to the merge blocks both on the ramp, and on the top. So you can actually walk between the container and the shuttle, and they will remain pressurized. HOWEVER, container might break after separation due to how game works. You can lose pressurization, and lights can get offset in a weird direction. Way to fix this - either repaste the container, or just reload the world. I am sorry, but there's literally nothing I can do about it.
  • This model also likes to periodically sink into the ground with container attached. There's not much I can do, as that's literally how this stupid game works. Just be careful when parking.
  • Also, I didn't bother recreating the interior of S6E1 shuttle, because let's be honest - yall will throw it out and replace with your own configuration anyway. In it's default size and configuration, container can hold up to 40 2x2x3 seats, so there's more than enough room to go wild.
  • Also also, this thing is already releasing as Gen 2. Why you might ask? Well, this thing went through basically as many incremental changes as the Nu-class, albeit behind the scenes instead of public. I might still update it if something comes up to my attention, but I don't envision any major reworks.

So, here is the Rho, and at long last - the end of the Republic.

@AdamThePilot Nope. It's complete fan fiction, and not even good one at that

Would you ever consider doing the Legacy-Class Star Destroyer?

also yeah you should just upload them a separate blueprints and just add in the description that you have yet to make screenshots for all of the variants
Knightcomeback 8 Apr @ 6:46pm
why not do the same thing you do with the other varients like the laat?
Knightcomeback 8 Apr @ 6:44pm
no i dont think i do

@wilsoncomeback They are all mine, lol, and I should still have them as separate blueprints. I am just really lazy when it comes to making new screenshots, especially for the same stuff I've already released. Do you happen to use "Paint Jobs" plugin?
Knightcomeback 7 Apr @ 7:09pm
looking at the screenshots it appears you already have the two versions that i had talked about, maybe someone made them, gave them to you to use in the screenshots, and you forgot about it?

@monkey :steamthumbsup:

@Sawyer Thanks, but no. Sepie ships from me are very improbable.

@wilsoncomeback Egh, will see. Since I already have a couple of reuploads I might as well post some recolors this year, but not in the coming months though.

Hey Alec R. dunno if you really do custom edits of your ships, but for this one can you make the imperial version aswell as the regular republic(non medical) version?
Sawyer 27 Mar @ 5:12pm
Love your ships. Been following for a long time. Casting my vote on for a vanilla C-9979 Landing Ship!!!
