PRR B6sa and B6sb 0-6-0 Shifters

This pack adds multiple variants of the Pennsylvania Railroad's B6sa and B6sb 0-6-0 Shifters. All feature lods for performance, dynamic weathering, random numbers, authentic sounds, and functional marker lights. Since in reality these locomotives would spend half their time going backwards, they also feature something new: animated reversing gear that shifts between forward and reverse positions when the locomotive changes directions!

With 372 locomotives between the different B6 subclasses, the type was the definitive type of what the PRR called a "Shifter". (a switcher in typical American railroad language or a shunter in Europe.) The B6sa imrpoved upon the original B6 with the addition of a superheater for improved power and efficiency, and a change from Stephenson to Walschaerts valve gear for ease of maintenance. Strangely for the PRR, the B6sa locomotives were also built with radial stay fireboxes common on most other railroads rather than the distinctive Belpaire firebox. A few years later this was corrected in the form of the B6sb which kept the mechanical improvements and returned to the PRR standard type of firebox.
These locomotives were common across the entire PRR system and subsidiary lines from their introduction to the end of steam. One was technically the very last PRR steam locomotive in active service, lasting until mid 1959 on lease.

These locomotives can be found under the "multiple units", "steam" category in the buy menu. They also each have one passenger slot, which is not a bug. Both are a result of these locomotives supporting random numbering which allows for unique road numbers without cluttering up the buy menu or making you download additional textures.

The Train Shunter mod is highly recommend to allow running the locomotive in both forward and reverse using the run-around or push-pull settings.
