Welcome to Mount Rock Hospital
Nestled on the outskirts of the city, Mount Rock Hospital stands as a state-of-the-art medical facility designed to serve the region’s growing population. Equipped with cutting-edge technology and a full range of specialized departments—including Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Intensive Care, and Infectious Diseases—Mount Rock was envisioned as a beacon of modern healthcare.

However, the road to opening has been anything but smooth. Originally slated to be fully operational last year, bureaucratic red tape, funding mismanagement, and construction setbacks delayed its launch. Now, with the bulk of the building completed but financial constraints limiting staffing, the hospital is opening in phases—leaving many departments understaffed and under-equipped.

To get things moving, the board made the difficult decision to sell off the hospital’s helicopter and several non-essential vehicles. This has provided some much-needed budget relief and wiped out the debts caused by construction overruns, giving you the best possible start we can offer.

As you take your first steps inside, you'll see that Mount Rock has everything a cutting-edge hospital needs—but not everything is running at full capacity. Some departments may quickly become overwhelmed with patient demand, forcing you to carefully balance growing patient numbers while every department fights for space. Expanding too fast could strain your limited budget, but waiting too long could lead to critical failures in patient care.

As a seasoned administrator with a successful track record at Sockville General Hospital, you've been called in to oversee operations, hire essential personnel, and ensure that Mount Rock becomes the medical powerhouse it was meant to be. Whether you choose to open departments gradually or take out loans to accelerate progress, the choice is yours—but the city is counting on you to act fast.

The ultimate goal? Raise enough funding to repurchase the critical vehicles Mount Rock desperately needs, all while keeping the hospital running efficiently and growing into the region’s premier healthcare institution.

Can you overcome these challenges?

----------------

Mount Rock Hospital has been designed with efficiency and patient flow in mind. To streamline care, all primary departments, doctor’s offices, emergency services, and diagnostic facilities (except for the Infectious Diseases Ward) are located on the ground floor. This ensures that most patients can receive treatment, imaging, and lab work without needing to travel far. Radiology, Trauma, and Medical Labs are positioned for easy access, reducing delays in diagnostics and emergency interventions.

At the heart of the hospital, an open central atrium houses eight elevators, providing smooth vertical movement for staff and patients. While most visitors and outpatients will remain on the ground floor, those requiring extended care or specialized treatment will be directed upstairs.

The next two floors consist of department-specific inpatient wards, each strategically positioned above its relevant department to reduce transit times for critical tests and treatments. For example:

Internal Medicine Wards are directly above the Medical Labs, allowing for quicker access to test results.
Orthopedic Wards sit above Radiology, ensuring that patients recovering from fractures or surgeries can receive imaging without long delays.
This layered approach enhances efficiency and communication between departments, helping specialists collaborate more effectively.

Finally, the top floor houses the heliport, designed for emergency airlifts and critical patient transfers. Additionally, this floor contains unused open spaces, a byproduct of the hospital’s "space-maximizing" architects, leaving room for future expansions or repurposing.

This is perfectly efficient.
The only thing I find due to playing with high insurance and patients, is that I need to add surgical teams on the top floor
