Description
Story: The KLS Freiburg was a very small passenger ferry built by the Kusterd Line. Built entirely within the month of May 1921, she was something the world would never expect. She was by name a passenger ferry, but with her length of only 19 meters, she was very well questioned. But to those she served, she was a delight. She may have been small, but she had a quad-prop set-up with diesel engines for each. Using these to reach an impressive top speed of 22 knots. With this speed, she was put into place to sail a short route. Running from the Danish Capital City of Copenhagen, to the Swedish City of Malmö. Sailing at top speed, she could make the journey in under an hour, given the conditions. The ship was constructed solely by 10 people who had the idea for the smallest commercial vessel of the time. Even Frank Bohnen, the Chairman of the Kusterd Line, helped build the ship himself, later writing about how he engraved his name in an unknown spot. The ship met a tragic end however in February 1938, when she was thrown ashore by a storm, 13 kilometers from Malmö. Completely destroying the small aluminum construction.

Regular description: The KLS Freiburg is a very small ferry boat used to ferry passengers between Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmö, Sweden. She has a very low fuel supply, a top speed of around 21 knots and max capacity of 27 (including her captain). This version is the KLS version, used by the Kusterd Line until 1924 when they transitioned to the Baltic Line.
