AI_No_Recruit

Description
This mod disables AI recruitment of the crappiest troops, meaning they will use their national troops a lot more and construct more castles.

I did not make this mod, I simply ported it to Dom6, made a few changes, and verified that it runs. There might be new crappy units in Dom6 which are not being disabled by this mod. If you would like to help update it, feel free to take ownership of the mod.

HI Aten. Looking at the .dm file I can see that not all indies are disabled, which leads me to believe that they still allow for good indies e.g. crossbowmen to be recruited.

Do they still recruit good tier indies if able?

Didn't have to go that far, wasn't really a criticism, mostly just a fun fact. The idea of a screenshot showing a bad AI army was good. Its just that that very specific situation shown in that very specific screenshot was not covered by the mod.

Ok I will delete the screenshot

What you are showing in the screenshot will not be prevented by this mod BTW. That is a mercenary company called "The Snake Charmer" which consists of 75 Militia (shield, leather) lead by a Horned Serpent named "Putin".

Unless this mod also goes through the painful process of deleting and replacing every mercenary company in the game (you have to do this because you can't select a merc company to edit, only delete all and recreate), the player might see that exact thing in your screenshot in their own games even with this mod. It is especially annoying that you can't even perfectly recreate all the vanilla merc companies as some of them use specific "Archer" units for example but a modder can only specify the monster's name, not ID. So you never know which "Archer" or "Longead" your merc company is going to consist of.

Anyway, something to think about in the future if you really hate seeing the AI use generic archers, militia etc.
