Windsack's HUD (v0.98)

Description
-- English --

This is the main reason why I haven't posted anything in a while, also because my PC wasn't in good shape and kinda died recently but meh, details xD

I started to check again on game UI/HUD, and since I got +3000 hrs I thought why not to try change the in-game UI for a more personal looking HUD. So, yeah. I took the chance and tried HUD creation this time :3

Mod concept
I always had in mind what kind of HUD I'll design for a RPG game of my own, and since I kinda wanted to stick to that design while developing this, I used it's structure but added the basic elements L4D2 ask to be in the HUD along side with it's dark-horror themed style so it don't looks out of place.
The style was also highly inspired on other HUD add-ons such as AvHUD2, RemixHUD2, PayDay 2 HUD and The Last of Us HUD.

First, I combined the vanilla L4D2 HUD structure with mine to make a new one. Then I took inspiration from Av and Remix HUDs to make the textures. And finally, PayDay and TLoU helped with the shape design.

The most prominent feature of this HUD could easily be it's "round appearance". I've seen that almost no HUDs out there make use of round shapes for their design. So I wanted to make something different but not too weird to the eye.

HUD Parts
Player Panel
Payer panel is maybe the core of any HUD mod. I really wanted this panel to pop-up with big icons and clear colors so the player can clearly see it's survivor information without obstructing the view completely.
Weapon Selection
While messing around with the files, I realize this panel is not so editable as others so I integrated it to the player panel as much as I could to clear the player's view even more. Having the item selection at the bottom and the Weapon Selection at the top.
Team Panel
Team panel is almost the same as the player panel but with a turn on it's design to make it different but still containing the same features. Although I used a very different structure. I went for a slope/stair design instead of the well-known horizontal or vertical structure to give it even more personality.
Captions Panel
Since the panels leave a gap in between them, I thought I could use it for the captions window increasing it's lenght but lowering it's height so it just take enough of the screen to fit without getting too much in the way.
Chat
Since the Team panel makes a slope. I had to raise the chat a bit to prevent collision.
Progress Bar
I had too much doubts with this one and also several designs but still managed to make something appealing without being too strange. I split the info texts to each side and put the icon in the middle making a round section in the middle of the bar keeping it's yellow color.
Scavenge Panel
I went for a simple design for this one but still wanted to make it special somehow. So I decided to put the numbers on a diagonal orientation to give it a less structural feeling and using a gas can icon of my own.
Incap Panel
This one took me a while to decide how I wanted it since I felt like creating my own panel too but without having texture issues like RemixHUD2 provokes when using custom VGUI textures for survivors. So finally I decided to make the gray circle a hiden health bar and changing the survivor image with an blend animation of a caution icon and a revive icon as a background with the numbers on top. And since health indicators are great to have, I also made the same for the Team Panel so players can know how close to death teammates are :3
Damage indicators
Again, as almost no HUD mods change this, I wanted to absolutely change them to give even more personality to the HUD and make it standout. So I went for a diffuse design on purpose to break with the "arrow monotony" but also make it bloody enough to convey that painful feeling the survivors may be experimenting themselves. And to achieve that, I probably made the biggest indicators on the workshop XD
I made them big enough to surprise and confuse the player, giving that realistic sense of pain (Even when not making scripts I try to add realistic stuff xD) but also close enough to the edges of the screen to not go absolutely blind haha

Survival and infected panels are not available yet. They'll be made on a future update.

Important
Please be aware that this HUD was built and tested on a laptop with a maximum resolution of 1376 x 766, so it may look weird or cause some issues with PC monitors and very high resolutions despite being patched for them. Also, keep in mind that the mod is not entirely complete, and I will be adding more content to it over time.

Compatibility:

Waow, I'm actually curious about your perspective.
It's fine for you if you send me a screenshot to see it?

ah i see, i think it could be a bit smaller, i end up with my entire bottom half of the screen occupied

I think it's more a matter of perspective.
It is true that compared to Vanilla HUD it is like 2 o 2.5 times bigger but it's more scattered through the corners.
I have some friends of mine which says it's size is pretty normal and decent and other which says it's a little too big.

I do plan an smaller version for this HUD for those who like it but don't ended liking it's size entirely.
