Maybe these could be upgrades. To activate these upgrades, you would need a third component, something rare. Maybe adamantine dust? Though, to make things more logical, a malachite "coating" or bonding would probably need some kind of resin, probably plant based.
Similar processes could be created for your other metals.
I think something like this would make your metals relevant and interesting even at the endgame phase, and something to strive for, and not only an aesthetic choice (which is a nice thing by itself)
If you ever consider this idea, I am here to help with the brainstorm.
Please let me know if there's any issues, I've been testing it but the downloaded version from steam has been the old version a few times. It might just need time but idk
This mod is meant to be a simple recolour, but I could make a similar one with functional differences (though I'd need to do some reading to really understand how to do that well). Any ideas for what features you'd like a more functional version to have?
