Ich hole immer mal wieder mein geliebtes Gothic II aus dem Regal, um es erneut durchzuzocken. Dabei ist es mir ein Anliegen, die bestmögliche Grafik zu geniessen, ohne die Original-Atmosphäre zu verändern. Auch sinnvoller Schnickschnack darf nicht fehlen. Ich habe auch eine Mod-Kollektion für Gothic I erstellt.

1. Mods installieren via Workshop:
  • Die Reihenfolge der Auflistung entspricht exakt der Reihenfolge, in der alles geladen werden muss.

  • Damit Gothic II mit dem Modstarter startet, ist eine Workshop-Betateilnahme erforderlich: Gothic II → Eigenschaften → Betas (Kann man auch bereits vor der Installation des eigentlichen Spiels machen)

  • Sobald der Modstarter gestartet ist, kann die Reihenfolge der Mods angepasst werden.

2. Manuell zu erledigen:
  • In den Einstellungen des Renderers im Spiel unbedingt HDR und die übertriebenen Regeneffekte (unteres Kästchen) deaktivieren!

  • In den Spieleinstellungen die Textur der Inventar-Mod auf Archolos ändern – sieht deutlich besser aus als die Standard-Version.

  • In den Steuerungseinstellungen: Ich empfehle unbedingt, Links drehen und Rechts drehen mit Seitwärts links und Seitwärts rechts auszutauschen. (Links drehen: A, Rechts drehen: D, Seitwärts links: Q, Seitwärts rechts: E. Ausserdem Springen auf MAUS RECHTS (wie in Gothic 1).

  • Träge Maus fixen: Falls die Maus zu träge reagiert, kann man einfach in der Gothic.ini (...steamapps\common\Gothic II\system) den Wert von mouseSensitivity anpassen: mouseSensitivity=2.5 (0.5 Standard)

3. Sonstiges:
  • Alternative Texturmods: Es gibt eine komplette Liste aller verfügbaren Texturpatches [forum.worldofplayers.de] für alle drei Gothic-Teile, falls jemand grössere Veränderungen vornehmen möchte.

  • Fehlermeldung „Program.RPT“ beim Systemstart: Einfach das Kästchen "Nicht mehr überprüfen" anklicken und auf "Ignorieren" klicken, sobald die Meldung das erste Mal erscheint. Man kann die Datei auch problemlos löschen, sie wird jedoch immer wieder erstellt und dann erscheint auch immer wieder die Meldung.
