I.N.A. Issoudun: Asteroid Fighter Base

Description
Hundreds of years ago, before the Dissolution, the Empire of Aelann constructed hardened fighter bases within the caverns of asteroids in many of their holdings. Dubbing them "indestructable drone carriers," the bases were not intended to be fortresses so much as hardened airfields, relying as much on the fleet and fighter squadrons for defense and resupply as much as their natural surroundings. I.N.A. Issoudun, named after a famous French Aerodrome from the Terran First World War, was one of those bases.

After the Empire's breakup, many of the bases were taken over by mercenary companies, despoiled, or demolished by commanding officers in order to prevent such things. I.N.A. Issoudun was, for a time, taken by mercenary companies, but was in turn taken back by the forces of New Constantinople and re-opened as I.N.A. Issoudun. As much a political prestige project as a strategic buffer, I.N.A. Issoudun is now part of New Constantinople's front line, intended to bolster their claim as the legitimate successor of the Empire as well as provide practical strategic defense.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The brainchild of myself and FinnMacGul, Issoudun is intended to be a backdrop-in-depth for The Fighter Review. Ships will be tested here, and in the future I may even plan dogfighting competitions based out of this world.

Squadron facilities include a control tower, operations center, hangar, cargo collector, fuel refinery, and ship elevator. Personnel facilities include an automatic airlock, crew and officer quarters, an emergency infirmary on the airfield and a longer-term medical bay in the facility, gravity elevators, stairwell, mess hall, showers and toilets. All facilities include automatic lighting.

For power the station has a cruciform reactor cluster, plus a backup battery cluster, both of which can be seamlessly switched between with two button presses. The facility is also fully conveyed, and has line lockouts to isolate the cargo bay and reactors from the system, as well as granular lockouts for each fighter berth in the hangar.

The facility is also fully signed, with as few pictograms as possible.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I.N.A. Issoudun was inspired by Ben Gunn's Teutonic Knights base, which I thought was extraordinarily well done. Huge credit also goes to FinnMacGul for laying out the personnel facilities, thinking up the extraordinarily good-looking triangle passages, and generally putting up with my manic creative mood swings.

Issoudun uses an assload of mods, by design, of which it actively uses few. The idea being, that it will then be able to import a wide variety of blueprints from across Steam Workshop for use in The Fighter Review. It would be remiss of me, however, to not annotate them as I stubbornly demanded in my own publication, but that same annotated list is, in fact, too monstrous, too enormous to be contained within the mortal boundaries of a Steam Workshop page, so I have added the modlist as a guide to maximize your viewing pleasure. If your bandwidth is limited, you should be able to cut the list down to Core Mods without any issue, but be advised that removing Core Mods will damage the station.

Do you keep any of the fighter review ships in the hangar at all?
