Stadler GTW 2nd Generation - US

The Stadler GTW 2nd Generation is a Diesel Multi-Unit (DMU) low floor vehicle. For the US it was produced for NJ Transit and the River Line. In the US this lightweight diesel-electric railcar and is consider a "light rail" vehicle by the FRA and is on not certified for use in tunnels.

NJ Transit placed and order for 20 units and was the first US light rail system to use DMUs when it began revenue service in 2004.
