Reglass - Glass Recycling

Description
Melt glass items and furniture into raw glass. Grind that raw glass into sand. Make new things!

"But Why?"
I like the story telling...

"Sand is Infinite!"
Yeah sure, if you have access to sand.

This mod introduces a basic recycling system for glass items, adding 30ish new reactions, semi-organized by type.
  • Recycle Glass Furniture - tables, chairs, thrones, weapon racks, armor stands, cabinets, coffins, and more
  • Recycle Glass Storage Items - jugs, pots, vials, flasks, and terrariums (empty containers only)
  • Recycle Glass Tools and Miscellaneous Items - statues, grates, blocks, goblets, instruments, and more
  • Grind Raw Glass to Sand - recycle raw glass into sand at a quern, completing the recycling loop

All recycling reactions for glass items are performed at a glass furnace, requiring the glassmaker skill. Empty containers are specifically filtered to prevent accidental recycling of containers with contents.

The mod creates a complete recycling cycle:
  1. Glass items → Rough glass (at glass furnace)
  2. Rough glass → Sand (at quern)
  3. Sand → Glass items (vanilla crafting)

A Word of Caution
I suggest using furnaces linked to stockpiles to prevent melting valuable goods (or artifacts).

Compatibility
This should be fairly compatible. Let me know if you have any issues.

Updates
  • 1.0.0 - initial release
  • 1.0.1 - move Recycle Window to Furniture menu
  • 1.0.2 - add grinding raw glass into sand
  • 1.0.3 - remove fuel requirement
  • 1.0.4 - remove Unrecognized Reaction Token

Roadmap
  • Add more general recycle orders (e.g. Recycle glass toy, Recycle glass craft, Recycle glass tool) for increased compatibility
  • Uhh... idk, maybe a balance pass of some sort

This does seem useful for locations without sand, you can buy glass goods and melt them down to make your own or mass produce and recycle things to train glassmakers, as you can do with metal.
