My version of the iconic WW2 Japanese carrier-borne Aichi D3A2 "Val" dive bomber in a Kamikaze configuration.

The Aichi D3A (Navy designation "Type 99 Carrier Bomber"; Allied reporting name "Val") is a World War II carrier-borne dive bomber. It was the primary dive bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) and was involved in almost all IJN actions, including the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941.

The Aichi D3A was the first Japanese aircraft to bomb American targets in the war, commencing with Pearl Harbor and U.S. bases in the Philippines, such as Clark Air Force Base. They sank more Allied warships than any other Axis aircraft.

In 1945 the aging Aichi D3A2 was still used from island bases and escort carriers, but some were converted to trainer planes and others were utilised as kamikaze planes as the Japanese grew ever more desperate in the face of the Allied advances in the Pacific.

This Kamikaze Aichi D3A2 has had its machine guns, radio and navigator's seat removed to allow for an 800 kg No.80 bomb to be carried to its target. The bomb can not be dropped but is fixed to provide destructive power when the pilot "gloriously" steers his plane into an enemy ship.

CONTROLS
Pilot's seat - All Alt controls!
W/S: Variable throttle.
S: Ground brakes.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw.
Up/Down Arrows / Mouse: Pitch.
Left/Right Arrows / Mouse: Roll.
X/Disable Steering: Flaps. Since flaps don't really provide more lift in the game these just provide a bit more pitch up (and some air brake) during take-off and landing.
Hold X/Invert Steering: Air brakes.
K/Hazard Lights: Fold wing tips for storing.
PgDn/PgUp / Auxiliary: Operate arrestor hook.
Fire action 1 / Num 1: Arm the No.80 bombs proximity fuse. A green light will ignite in the cockpit.
Camera 1: Telescopic bomb sight. I had to put the camera on top of the canopy as it looked too ugly and bulky on the slim sight.

Just arm the bomb, aim at a ship or building or anything else and then go full speed into the target for a big boom.
